Leaving for the airport shortly to fly from Houston to Reno to acquire 2008 DCSB TRD Offroad 6-spd manual with around 200K miles. Me and my son going, should be a fun bonding trip. This truck is going to be his in a couple years when he gets his license. I'll enjoy it in the mean time and it will give us an opportunity to work on it together and build it up.

I'll post some shots of our trip, but here's the outline:
    - Fly to Reno, then Uber down to Gardnerville (unless anyone wants to give us a ride)
    - Gardnerville, purchase truck
    - Drive SE through Vegas and staying the night in Kingman AZ
    - SAT AM: Kingman through Seligman AZ (apparently the town Radiator Springs was modeled after) and up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon
    - Driving the south rim and then back down and on to Sante Fe, NM for SAT night
    - SUN: Heading south through Roswell, gonna hit up some aliens, Carlsbad Caverns, Guadalupe Peak (highest point in Texas) and end up in Marfa at a buddy's place for SUN PM.
    - MON: Prolly the worst day of driving, boring drive across The Republic back to Houston, but we will be bolstered by the thought of sleeping in our own beds.

Should be fun. I haven't been to or through most of the places on this trip, so that will be cool to do together. Just crossing my fingers we don't have any mechanical issues.

Hope you check the truck out before you buy,Reno has a lot of rusted out trucks in the area.

Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn’t expect that in Nevada. I did receive a lot of photos of all areas of the truck and we did a couple of video calls.

Made it to Reno. In the Uber down to the truck. Fingers crossed.

He looks happy. I'll create a build thread and post more pics of the truck as it stands, but all in all it has good bones.

Picked up truck. All checked out. Apparently I. Any upload photos from my phone, so will have to add when I get back to a computer.

Got to Kingman AZ day one. Stopped at Seligman (town that inspired Radiator Springs, which they fully embrace)

Grand Canyon was a must see. It was a bit of a detour, but couldn't pass it up when you are this close.

Made it to Sante Fe NM for night two and went through Roswell on the way to Marfathe for day 3.

Headed to Marfa by way of Roswell NM and Carlsbad Caverns today. Carlsbad was another must stop.

Truck is running good so far. Very pleased. Prayers it makes it home without any issues. Made it back to The Republic.

Stopped at my buddy's in Marfa for night 3. We could have made it farther down the road, but it was a good break and I don't get to this side of the state that much. My son bottle fed a calf, helped feed some horses, and got his first crack at driving a manual around the ranch, so it was a good stop.

Day 4 - Felt longer than it prolly needed to. I'm glad we broke it up and made the stops we did. Definitely a memorable trip. Home sweet home. Was nice to sleep in our own bed.

2200+ miles. We started the James Bond box set on the iPad and got through 16 movies (can't believe there's still 9 more in the set, and a couple other new ones after that).

I also had to do a road trip to buy my manual 2008 Taco. Also took the kids and made an adventure out of it that we still talk about today. Good times! Enjoy the truck and the memories you made with your son! :burnrubber:
