I plan on doing a comprehensive youtube video showing my truck build - exterior and interior tour, rolling shots, cabin shots, fly-bys... everything... I should come to Calgary this summer and do one for you, too.

That sounds awesome and can't wait to check it out. My brother mentioned I should do one last year and it's been in the back of my mind since then. It would be wicked to have two people for doing sweet action shots!

I still remember having to wind cassettes back up when the players decided to eat them.

Or I had a second gen iPod, which was so futuristic at the time. Now trying to navigate with that scroll wheel is such a pain in the ass after touchscreens became the norm.

Heck, I even hate when I have to insert an atm card and key in the PIN rather than tap. The indignity of it all lol. One gets so used to the easy life.

Haha I feel like my 12 year old head unit is still futuristic, even though it runs off an iPod from 2008. I'm just stuck in the early 2000s. That was back when I still had hope for the future.

It really is. No rasp whatsoever and a nice throaty sound that's pretty sweet when I give a bit of throttle before putting the truck in gear and slipping the clutch.

It does have a bit of drone in a very narrow band of speed/rpm and the in cab noise level is just a hair on the noisy side for me so I'd like to soundproof the cab someday. Overall it's heaps better than stock and I don't regret it one bit.

Where are your mufflers located? The location of the mufflers are key in avoiding drone. If there isn't some piping after the exit then it will definitely drone. Mine does not one bit.

Mufflers are located at bout the stock location and then piped to behind the mudflaps and no downturn.

Could be the mufflers themselves and my definition of drone. It occurs in a really narrow band when held at a steady speed and I just speed up or slow down a little to get rid of it. It's pretty minor.

I have Hyperacusis from Tinnitus and any bit of drone will make my ears feel like they are bleeding. I got really lucky with my selection and consider myself lucky. They sound killer to boot as well so I'm even more happy that the outcome turned out the way it did. :)

Your truck sounds awesome. Sucks about the Tinnitus though. The joys of lasting injuries/maladies.

I really need to get an external driving vid to get an accurate representation of my trucks sound

The truck has always been good as far as sound volume goes. The Camaro is another story. Lol. Just on the cusp of intolerable and good.

Just have a buddy or your lady stand outside as you do a flyby. That usually gives a killer representation of what the truck actually sounds like on the outside. :)

So I've just gotten over a stubborn cold for the last two weeks and been freezing my ass off at work and life. Recently bought a new toolbox workbench to replace my wooden workbench and organize my tools properly for the first time in my life so spent a day a couple weeks ago disassembling all the old stuff. Pics to come eventually.

Garage is still messy enough I couldn't fit my truck so I visited my brothers heated garage to finally change my diff fluids since they are broken in. Alas, heated garage meant snow and ice on the truck dripping everywhere lol.

Used an air compressor and drilled a hole for pressurized tubing to the bottom of a bottle and used that to inject the diff fluid and it worked really well compared to the usual struggles. It made awesome queefing noises until I learned to tilt the bottle so the fluid is at the exit nozzle and it worked swell. Was tricky holding slippery tubing to the nozzle for the front diff so I'm going to rig up a compression fitting and flexible tubing to the nozzle next time so it's not a worry.

Rear diff I just had the nozzle right into the diff without tubing since I don't have a spare tire under the truck and had lots of room to work.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one that LOL when the gear oil bottle queefs and farts!

Seems like a great method. I do like my electric pumps, but they always end up being a consumable ($25 every few oil changes).

I've usually done the hand pump method to fill front trans and rear diff fluid. But I've heard the squeezable "bag" bottles are the way to go and I'll be trying it next time. Sadly, I dont think these bag bottles are available from all manufacturers.

i haven't used these yet but i hear nothing but great stuff but since doing regear with ECGS I'm solely using Lucas Dyno oil. Used to use Amsoil 100% prior.

I like the idea but the Truetrac is recommended with Dino oil over synthetic and those bags are only available with synthetic at around $20 Can a pop. I did buy a cheap hydration pack back to use the same way but decided to try the pressurized system.

Cheap pumps that die or you need a rebuild kit often?
