Ah ok, thanks. I was afraid of that (I've ordered from SE before); guess I better beef up my order to make the shipping worthwhile...

Yeah, I remember when I first got into off-roading. I had the basics down but no clue on specific models and such. So when I was asking a friend that had driven Fords his entire life, about regearing my old XJ he was all "that's easy-peasey, just buy new 3rds." Then I found out everything there was to know about Dana 30s and Chrysler 8.25s. A bit of a shock and I never got around to the re-gear.

So glad Toyota believes in 3rds.

Looks like I found a partial solution to nose droop induced by adding a winch and skids. I'm running Wheeler's 10mm top plate spacer and Toytec offers a 1/2". It ain't much of a difference but it'll bring some height back after adding 100+ lbs to the front end.

Thanks to Slodgetto, SGT Taco and White Toy Taco, got the new rear 3rd installed:

    IMG_4993_zps56b3b0bb_9bbfdab287e727ae8a47de4747bc5c0c97c8a446.jpg

Had some hiccups but all worth it when we got it buttoned up and took it for a test drive. Locker works fine and 1st gear is fun again. Now have to plan for the front diff install.

Alright! Drove it to and from the gym. No leaks. 1st gear doesn't feel like a struggle anymore.

Speedo is a little off but probably closer to factory. Speedo reads 40, nav unit reads 38. Going to do some testing later today to figure out the percentage it is off.

With my 4.88s and 33s I'm off about 10 mph at 60. So I have to go close to 70 just to go 60

Yar, I'm taking it out on the interstate later today to get some points 65 and 70 mph.

I'm putting off replacing the speedo gear as long as I can.

This is what I'm going with because I'm going to different tire sizes in the future.

I saw a thread where somebody installed something like that. I'm thinking of just working out the speedo gear. It is an easy install. Otherwise, I'll remark my speedo readout on the dash when I pull it apart to do the switches. :D

    Speedo/GPS (in MPH)
    40 / 38
    45 / 41
    50 / 47
    55 / 51
    60 / 55
    65 / 59
    70 / 64

I'll get the curve estimated later.

Ultragauge is another option for speedo correction. My ultragauge reads pretty close to what my GPS reads, like within .5 mph if not spot on. I looked at the dakotadigital stuff and it seemed like too much money for just fixing the speedometer reading.

Your truck looks awesome btw :D
