I did some (weak I might add) searching for 1st gen quick disconnects. I didn't have much luck to my recollection. I would love to remove my swaybar, but sometimes my wife drives my truck and I don't want to worry about her.
In New Jersey, you have to have #'s on your door to drive on the highways...

I honestly don't see it being any safer with the sway bar on for my truck at least. My Eibachs are stiff enough. Turns are so much better without it. Hope I never need it since I threw it out haha

Yay! Clutch went out. Guessing by the symptom and lack of others that the throw fork broke. And I'm also guessing that the garage that did the clutch replacement did a shitty job. Calling the dealership in the morning. Nothing but Toyota parts for me.

If you need to get it to the dealer, we could get a u-haul car trailer for a day for $45.

I think he means you have to have numbers on your car like a race car because everyone drives so fast on the highways

Called the dealer and got a labor quote. Having it dropped off tomorrow morning. Hoping to get it back same day. Maybe off-roading on Sunday will still happen.

Got a quote and just going to have it towed. The difference isn't worth attempting to get it hooked up on a trailer.

There are times it is nice having a truck maintenance fund so I don't have to clean the grease from underneath my fingernails.

cant wait till i can have a real engineering job where i make good money to be able to have a truck maintenance fund.

right now, its the "do i want food/beer for this month or to fix/mod my truck" fund. i suppose i could use my credit card but i hate being in debt or owing people money

The downside to uniballs is they are unprotected in most designs. Gunk sits in the open cup and works itself into the uniball joint. So they wear faster. The climate here is good and bad for them. Good because it is dry and doesn't snow much. Not much salt on the roads and moisture in the air to corrode the balls.

The bad is the dust. Just think what sandpaper does. Dust and sand will work itself into the joint and score the surface causing it to wear faster. Capping the top keeps foreign material from sitting in the cup, giving time to work itself into the joint.

Now, if someone would make a nice booty to cover the bottom of the uniball joint, it'd be nice and sealed.

One issue with the non-Icon uniball UCAs is they don't use low profile hardware and so a cap like the Icon won't work. But someone should be able to sew up a neoprene booty that velcros over and does a decent job.

BTW, need to check on maintenance required for your new UCAs. A bottle of tri-flow or other PTFE type oil lubicrant is called for. Check with SDHQ to see what they recommend.

The zerks are for greasing the bushings.

The oil, you should be able to just drizzle onto the top of the uniball and let it work in.

Check in with SDHQ to be sure.
