Ahh gotcha. I like mine so I need a new place for mine whenever I get an internal cage. Next step with the SAS. Just in case I do more crazier stuff.

When I say deleted, I mean the whole clutch starter kill circuit is defeated. Regardless of clutch pedal position, if I turn the key, engine goes vroom (or goes vroom, lurch, stall). Never understood the clutch starter kill thing.

Those are female connectors for the blade connectors on the back of the switches. They crimp on to the wires and slide onto the blades.

Think I might have figured out a scheme to mount the amp. Have to tear out the interior again this weekend and see if it'll work.

It'll be more secure than velcro but won't require drilling holes into the floor. Going to make a base to sit under the carpet then act as a clamp base, screwing the amp down into it. I've got plywood I can make it out of but would like something a little less reactive to moisture.

    Sweet!
How do you like those 33" BFG ATs? I'm thinking about getting some after my rear lift comes in

No complaints. Plenty of traction but, then again, I'm liberal about locker use. For me, they are a happy medium between on- and off-road performance. Since the truck is becoming more and more off-road specific, considering going back to the KM2s but in a 285/75r16 and siped. Also considering stepping up to 315s but that'd require some tubbing.

Make sure to post pictures when you do that. Looking into ways to make my amp more secure.

Basically, going to clamp the amp to the carpet with a plywood base cut to fit the floor underneath the seat. So from bottom to top it'll be base/carpet/amp. I'm also considering using a plastic cutting board or other thick plastic to use as a base. Would like something fairly nonreactive.

I'll post pictures as I go. Spending some time tomorrow researching doing up the full sound treatment, most likely using Madjik_Man's build thread. Once I get the materials in, will do the full-up install. Getting a bit tired of ripping everything apart 3-4 times just to get one project done.

Was there a noticeable power loss when you moved up?
That's the way I am right now, not a whole lot of off road to justify KM2s.... for now

Noticeable, yes. Made it no fun to drive, no.

Before I re-geared, 1st gear was much slower off the line. Once above 2k rpms was still peppy enough to be fun. I did start driving like a grandpa and my gas mileage did actually go up by roughly 1 mpg.

After re-gearing, hammering the gas became fun again and now I'm in the 16-17 mpg area instead of 17-18 mpg.

So basicly your sandwiching it between the carpet? The carpet itself doesn't seem too secure, but it should help quite a bit.

Also, I'm wiring up a couple of the same switches you recently installed, did you tie the lower lights into the dimmer circut? If so, how?

The carpet is secured by the seats, console, kickpanels, etc. so the amp isn't going to slide out from underneath the seat and whack me in the head during a roll-over. ;-)

I may glue the base down to the floor but need to see what all is underneath there first. Screwing it down seems like a bad idea since there are either fuel or brake lines running right under there. But I may try it out and then silicon the bottom side to seal out the water.

As for wiring into the dimmer, no, did not. The guy helping me (actually doing most of the work since he was a very good installer at some point in his life) tried it out and found it worked opposite the dash (i.e. dim dash, switch lights brighten and vice-a-versa) Plus, my dimmer isn't really working right. I stopped using it years ago. When I'd turn down the dimmer, only the right side of the dashlights would dim.

I did some guess and check wiring and got the lower lights to dim correctly. Thanks for the quick response though!

Hmmm, makes me think my dimmer is hosed. Glad it worked out for you.

Finally stopped using my budbuilt skid as a work surface and got it mounted. Had to cut some of the front lip off to mate to the Elite bumper and took a little too much off for a nice tight fit but it all worked out.

Still have to get it painted and one of the bumper mounts fixed but it's on there.
