ooooohhh nice, finding the line of best fit will definitely account for the random errors associated with an analog dial that is the speedo and will ensure a more accurate overall measurement

    anyway.....

You have ABR's front and rear? What gear ratio did you go with? Sorry if I missed it in the earlier post.

ARB in the front, TRD E-locker in the rear. 4.56 gears.

Need to pack the old 3rds up and send them back to ECGS.

    Still deciding on skids.

He already has the factory e-locker, (ie push a button on dash and viola, locker) so there is no need.

Yar, and actually prefer it this way. I have two lockers but each is tied to a different throw source. Gives me a little insurance if one of those throw sources dies on the trail

Hoping to get the new lights bolted on and some pictures taken today.

How is it driving with 4:56 gears now? Were you running 4:10's previously?

I'm debating whether or not I should regear later on down the road... It just seems like mine still has plenty of power and great gas milleage, so I'm not sure if it would be cost effective for me...

For me, it wasn't about cost effectiveness, it was about adding capability. I wanted a front locker so the opportunity arose to re-gear for more low-end torque. Also, I have a manual so wanted to take some stress off the clutch induced by the 33s.

Not sure what transmission you have. If it is an automatic, 33s don't seem as noticeable. On the manual, I had to pay more attention to the clutch transition. It now feels like stock again where it "wants" to roll when I engage the clutch.

If you are going to be keeping the truck long-term, going to be doing lots of off-roading and installing a front locker, re-gearing is highly recommended.

I will say, now that I have 4.56 installed, I am still questioning whether I should have got the 4.88s. 4.56 is a good choice for a manual transmission and 33s. Calculations say it is a little overgeared for 33s and it feels like factory and maybe a little more. I think the 4.88s would have let me smoke the tires at the line. :D

And I still have to wait for the next tank to figure out the gas mileage. That and still have to calculate how much the speedo is off. Looking like 8-9%

The spacers will give about 1.5x the spacer height in actual lift. Of course, the springs will settle a little more given time.

The 4.56 is nice. Feels like factory again with maybe a little more oomph. I'm just glad I don't have to feather the clutch so much anymore. Hoping to get the air compressor installed this weekend so I can test out the front locker.

Ya, we were up that way a couple weeks ago. I've heard the gate is opened at times. Hoping to make it up there when it is.

Looks like the front diff is leaking. Gear oil on the garage floor gives it away. I ran my finger along the edges we cracked but all came back dry. I'm hoping maybe the breather tube came off or isn't sealed up right. Gotta get back under the truck tomorrow morning to see if I can find it.

Good news is the rear is still doing fine. :)

I'll set up an off-road meet for the weekend after and post it in the adventure thread. It is getting more interest and peeps posting pictures of awesome New Mexico scenery is causing even more.

Ha! Just the drain plug. Tightened it up a tad. Will see about fixing it when I refill the gear oil after the break-in period is done.
