If you go with a different bumper I might take that front bumper.

I'll let you know first thing if I go this route. Also considering some custom coilovers with longer/heavier springs. Need to do more research.

I should've just SAC'ed it from the beginning. First project, right out of the gates. That would've been interesting.

I was looking at Trail Gear's SAC kit at one time.

heh. I pulled the plug on one of the 12v outlets and jammed the wires in it. Not clean and not necessarily the best solution but temporary until I can get a new fuse block wired in and all the wiring redone.

I had considered using the cigarette lighter feed but wanted to keep it in case I ever needed to make a fire in a pinch.

If I get the gumption on starting my amp install, I'll snap a picture. Peeps will probably get a giggle out of it.

The way I wired it is temporary for now. Because of the addition of the ARB compressor, lights, CB and whatever else, I'm adding a fuse box and I'll be powering the CB directly from it (along with lights, compressor and whatever else I can dream up).

Ya, if you're not adding a bunch of other electrical accessories, just run the power straight off the battery. It is good to have the CB able to operate without turning on the accessories. In an emergency, better to minimize draw from the battery when you need the CB the most.

I think a couple of the guys tied it into one of the unkeyed fuse slots on the interior fuse panel but haven't researched the specifics.

Unpacked the skidplate. And it immediately became a work surface.

Ran the plumbing to the front locker and installed a Toytec diff drop kit to replace some other brand that I didn't like.

Man I have bud builts and an elite front bumper. Just cranked up the coilovers a bit. With the winch, its pretty heavy in my front.

    Gneaux, ewe! :)

Yeah, I have the OME C/Os so no cranking can be done. Going to replace my 10mm top plate spacers with 1/2" ones to get a little lift back but think I'm going to have to get some Icons eventually.

Did you have to enlarge the holes on the bumper skidplate tabs to install the budbuilt skid? If so, how did you do it?

Just got an email back from Dan@Wheeler's. He's recommending some Icons with 14x700lb coils or OME 883 + 5mm trim packer + 10mm top plate spacer to take care of my weighty fron end.

Time to start saving up again.

I did have to cut about an inch on the front lip of the bud skid. Look at my build and also search jlee's thread he made.

Yar, when I was researching BudBuilts I got to know your build pretty well. :) I'm already wrangling up help to get the front lip cut down.

What about the slots in the bumper mounting tabs that Tim used? The 8mm bolts I have won't fit. I'm looking at drilling/grinding them out and hoping that it is just the powdercoating that is making it too narrow. Was hoping to get 1st hand experience.

Cruise control bracket rolled in today. Going to require some cutting and bending but should work out nicely.

I didn't have any problem fitting them in. I'm sure drilling and grinding will work fine.
