We'll see, as I'm replacing the belts here in the next few days once they get to the house.

I'm also going to clean out the power steering pump filter screen and see if that alleviates the groaning sound from the pump/pulley.

Just trying to get ideas for parts in advance for if/when I replace belts and clean out the pump and still get the "supercharger whine" noises like I currently have. Figured you might have some good info when it comes to random odds ends of the truck getting replaced haha

I know for sure the A/C tensioner pulley is in a shitty spot. What little mud we get in NM caked it all up and ruined the bearing. It is an easy and cheap replacement. If you have the belt off, check how the A/C compressor pulley feels as well. It should spin very freely when there is no power applied to the magnetic clutch.

Got it, thanks! Ever since we hit Monticello one of the pulleys chirps, so that could definitely be a possibility. Guess I'll just have to wait and see when I change the belts.

This is kind of random but I swear I remember you saying a while back you were gonna check the set screws on your URD short throw shifter to make sure everything is all good. You ever pulled it and checked? I was thinking about doing this to mine soon.

Yar, I did say I was going to check but never got around to it. The damn thing has felt solid since install so I haven't had a huge hankering.

Same here. I guess those little screws do hold.

    Respect!

It went to an excellent new owner. We've been offroading several times and he even helped work on the truck a time or two. Big fan of the 3.4l and owns several of them. Was happy it went to him and I'm looking forward to what he does with it.

I think as far as geography goes, this is probably the shortest move to date for any built up rig on this forum. You could throw a rock from your place and hit the truck right now.

Maybe we can find a way to edit the title of the thread to say "(Formerly) TomTom's....", that way I can keep posting in this thread and it's all relevant.

PS, my driveway looks like an early 2000's Toyota dealership right now.

Done. Not sure how to hand off the 1st post for future changes to the index but updated the title.

I was rather confused when I saw this thread title what I was subscribed to. All makes sense now. How many built Toyota's do you need Nick?

It made me laugh when I saw it. Seems strange to me to have a Tacoma build in my name as well, especially considering I haven't done any of the building so far.

Just two. I needed a change in the driveway and wanted a different driving experience. Tom had a high quality offering that fit the bill, so I jumped on his offer.

I was actually in the market for a turbo coupe... was looking at SR20 swapped S14s, MK3 Supras, and 2JZ swapped GS300s and SC300s... but I figured a quick truck with a 5 speed might be more useful to me in the long run.

The FJ is, for sure, where I want to be right now but man, I'm missing the directness of a manual and the top end pull of the S/C. I'm actually very interested to see what you change on it. Don't know if it is a bit weird but want to see how you want to utilize it and the changes that get you there.
