The sizes of the western states are hard to grasp. Coming out of the east, it is easy to cross several states in a day, then spend all day doing just one state.

Regardless, I have never been bored on the road trips that I have done, even I70. There are incredible sights, funny billboards, and such along the way.

There's nothing in west Texas, or the Southwestern states even. You'd be bored. Lol

I enjoyed eastern CO and Kansas on I70.

Well, except for the semis that were doing 30 and would whip left as we came up on them. Since, I have an massive dislike for JB Hunt and Werner.

I try to avoid the interstates whenever possible. It might add a few hours to the trip but you see things that you had no idea were there. I found some wild scenery through Kansas/Nebraska this year. I actually enjoyed some of the campsites I found, it made me rethink my opinion of revisiting the breadbasket states instead of just driving through to "more interesting" places.

    Middle of Kansas:

Good swimming hole running along the base of that cliff. And growing wild along the banks was a certain 5 pointed leaf. I doubt it was any good for smoking, but it made for a few funny pictures.

I totally agree. The times that we hit the interstates were by necessity. Still, I didn't mind them and certainly better than a bad bus ride in the sky.

When traveling for fun, I look for the squiggly routes.

Man! You have me thinking of all the great and different food along the way. BBQ to steaks, pizza, and CHEEEESE!

You ever come through the Columbia/Lexington SC area for any reason Tony, you got to stop in at Lizards Thicket. Its a local restaurant thats been around forever and has some of the best southern comfort food ever. I eat there atleast once a week.

Thanks for the recommendation! It sounds right up my alley.

I need to get back to the east coast one of these days.

I love all of it honestly, prefer the mustard because I was raised on it, but ive become a real fan of the vinegar and pepper base sauce. Its delicious

I was a guy in Atlanta reached out and we were talking. At the moment I dont think I'd benefit much from it. I am however looking at suspension and tires in the next year so then I'll take the leap
