@tonered pm sent! 2017 manual trans. Torque below 3k rpm is pitifully nonexistent. I heard a tune can fix this issue. Interested to hear more. FI soon.

    Thanks!

    I have replied.

The vF Tune will dramatically change the bottom end, and shifting. The amount of slip needed on the Stock tune is just dumb.

not sure what the man said, but for now all the reports suggest that the Mag SC doesn't do much for the under 3k performance yet, because there are still no aftermarket tunes (non-factory Magnusson tunes) available yet, although that's surely coming at some point. until then my understanding is that getting this right on the MTs requires more than one effort, at least that's how it's been for me. my low end performance is solid, but for me it took all the following before i was satisfied:
    - Coyoza tune for MT on 93 octane
    - ADM for positive clutch control
    - a custom free flow exhaust
    - solid motor mounts

once i had these working together i have zero complaints. the reports I've seen are that the SC tunes only pop above 3.5k kinda like stock, with similar performance levels to stock under 3.5k. that's not worth any effort for many of us where only the sub 3.5k performance is the issue.

Good to hear the tune helped sub 3.5k.

Will be getting @tonered flash and the basic kit from VF so that I have the dongle and can make changes once FI and on the dyno.

you are going to get FI and do a from-scratch tune for it?

asking because FYI the Magnusson SC provides their tune locked only, so if were on that blower you would need to develop the tune from scratch.

YotaWerx Tuning (original owners of Coyoza Tuning) is working on a tune for 3GT superchargers as well.

My Magnuson SC just arrived a few days ago, and I'm going to be creating a SC tune built on top of my PowerThirst tune. I'm going to run Magnuson's tune once the hardware is installed, both out of necessity and curiosity, but I anticipate hating the throttle and shift-points. Glad there will be others like the Coyoza guys making some too. Can't wait to try others!

To provide some clarification, we sold Coyoza as a brand to CVC because they wished to acquire our 6MT tune and so we operate under the brand/name YotaWerx Tuning now.

But yes, we're working on a supercharger tune.

    Appreciate the shout-out sir.

Sorry for the stupid (Maybe really stupid) question but where are the details on the tunes/gains?

Seems like a lot of people like this tune, I haul dirt bikes in the back on the weekends up to the mountains and I want me some more torque so I don't have to rev this damn engine out!

In Costa Mesa, CA if that helps for contact reasons/who to talk to

With the tune, you can putter around in the lower rev band with gobs more torque.

What tune did you get? KDMAX? OVTUNE?
I'm new to this tuning and trying to gather some knowledge. My truck is 2018 SR5 and I can honestly say I hate it. It hunts for gears, a slug in the lower rpm range and is frustrating to drive. Most of the time I drive in S mode. I should of keep my 2010. I live on Vancouver Island with all varieties of terrain so I'm looking for more drivability not performance.
    Thanks for any help.

@Saeros is just across the water. He comes over to the island at times.

The 3rd Gen has great hardware, just let down and masked by the crappy Stock tune. With the tune, it is really comparable to the 4.0l except gets a bit better MPGs. Also, there are big improvements to be had on the 2nd Gens and 4Runners with the TSBs and tunes. It is silly that Toyota cannot seem to tune small truck V6s.

I have been in contact with Saeros and wanted to do some more research first. And I also see dave82at will be in Nanaimo in November to do tuning.

This is my 4th Toyota vehicle and this is has been the biggest let down of the four. They've had plenty of time to fix this and haven't. Sad!
The first being a 1982 4X4, 5 speed, 4 cyl. Great truck, even had a 7' slide in camper for it. Ahhh the non kid years!

Cool. I don't know the other person, but @Saeros is a very helpful and friendly guy.

It is ridiculous after all this time. The best part is that vF Tuner keeps his tunes as emissions compliant (not certified). So, it really is the best of both worlds.

Dang, all this talk about Vancouver makes me miss my old downhill longboarding days. I used to take my race team out to Pender Harbor every year for The Attack of Danger Bay, then head up the coast to hit all the amazing roads up there. Also, I've chatted with @dave82at, seems like a solid dude!
