What is this abomination... And do I need it?

Also, what gives with removing the engine beauty cover? Those mice need a roof to keep them cozy!

It is an intake horn that may or may not do anything. I've been pining for it for a while. $30 in my hand.

I will add a pic of the stock part.

I hate plastic shrouds that are only there for set dressing. It's a purely functional area for me.

Sorry to be dumb, but, the strap is to make it easier to close the tailgate from inside? No concerns about the bolt pulling out of it's weak sauce plastic insert? Or do you have upgraded rivnut hardware holding the skin on?

I have a perfect strap (it's blue though, that might clash with the truck) all ready, pre-loop'd, no hook, just waiting for this. Wondering though if maybe it'd be better to secure it to the metal behind the skin using a plastic clip then feed it from underneath at the seam?

It is just fine with the stock fastener. I am not yanking hard on it. Just a gentle starter.

Should the fastener strip out, I will just go bigger and longer.

I melted a hole with my soldering iron.

If you do slide it under the lip, it would probably be stronger?

Oh yeah! That is the one. The 2LM just works like a dream.

No kit yet? Tracking or still waiting on shipment? It can sometimes be like that. If anything, while waiting sucks, it just makes the first drives all that much sweeter.

    I hate ground shipping!

You should already have vF downloaded. A Master Key should come automatically base on your order and then you need to send off your System ID based on what the Flash Tool in vF shows for your computer to get the REG File that will unlock the rest of the Flash Tool.

Check back in the PMs for links to that info and Instructions.

    Great point!

    Thanks!

Gmail seems to be back to norm on my end, but it seems that the ovtuned.com site is still buried in fake-malicious hell.

    Nice work, @Shellshock ! :hattip:

Note that the Master Key only unlocks tune editing, which you should certainly look at once you get some time on the first flash or so. Getting the System ID sent off is the important part to be able to flash.

Also if you're on Win10, expect vF to take about 5min to launch. There's a minor interaction issue with the OS that OVT is working on.

    Thank you!

So if i understand this correctly, to complete the registration i will need to plug in tactrix cable in my truck and send back my ECU ID to vF? That would be the final step?

No. Install and launch vF. Inside of vF, launch the Flash Tool. In the Flash Tool window, it will tell you the System ID of your computer. That System ID needs to be sent to OVT in order to get you the REG file, which comes from a supplier in the UK.

You already know that you are 04A71. If you weren't, your first step would be installing TS and updating to 04A71. :D
