Hello, after going through almost every tonneau cover forum, i have narrowed it down to the Fold a Cover G4, Bakflip MX4, and buying a used OEM tonneau cover. I was wondering whats everyone opinion is on these two options. Also, if i go the OEM route is it hard to install on a truck that did not come with it. Thanks in advance

I did a lot of cover research also, and it came down to a Bak MX4 or Bak Revolver X2. Decided on the Revolver, as it does not cover the rear window when fully open.

As far as the MX4 goes - it allows you to close the tailgate without lifting the cover. Cover opens right up, and allows you almost full bed access, but back window will be covered. Cannot open bed cover at the cab end. Uses aluminum panels with 400 lb. weight limit, and has a 3 year warranty. The mounting rails replace the Tacoma utility rails which get remounted about 2" lower, using brackets added to the mounting rails.

Don't know that much about the Fold A Cover G4, except it allows you bed access at the cab end, and some people complain about the locks freezing in winter. I would make sure you can still use your utility rails, if that is important to you. Hope that helps some.

What about snow or cold temp for the revolver x2? Since I'm in Montreal I try to decide and this too.

I guess we will find out if it sticks in extreme cold. Even a trifold cover will freeze shut in icy conditions. Water gets under the seal and freezes, and you have to run a knife or something between the rail and the rubber seal. One of the joys of Canadian winters I guess.
