I'm looking for a kayak rack that is compatible with a Tonneau cover. I'm looking for a rack that will fit in the back of the truck or on the rails or a Tonneau cover that is easy to remove and be replaced with a Kayak Rack. I've have spent hours looking at threads, pictures, etc. I found the Retrax Pro XR that one of the members is using with the top rail system but the cover is about $1500 plus the rack system from Thule/Yakima.

i plan on buying KB Voodoo system. They make brackets that sit proud of the cover and allow it to be functional

I had a kB voodoo rack that worked well with the oem cover. Biggest issue is you can’t unfold it with rack attached.

This was primarily my camping set up so I usually took both the rack and tonneau off at the same time.

I think in order to remove the entire rack you’ll have to slide the tonneau cover off first. Unless you want to just remove the cross bars, those detach the the rail mounts.
