    Howdy all,

Just a quick question. I just installed a Bakflip MX4 tonneau cover and like many others, I used the brass fittings to fit onto the drain tubes. Right now when I put the brass fitting into the original bed drain holes, it causes the drain tubes to stick straight up and the OEM bed mat doesn't fold down flat. Do u guys leave it like this? Any of u drill a hole into the bedmat itself so the drain tube goes thru it instead? Just looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I’ll be doing this soon, just waiting for some warm weather...
I’ve got a Retrax ProMX bed cover and it has two drain tubes. The tubes are rather large and required the drain holes in the bed to be reamed out a bit. When I got the Retrax, they had a deal to get a free Bedrug with purchase. I just have the Bedrug sitting in there now with the drain tubes resting on top. I will be poking holes in the Bedrug to push the drain tubes through but I need to wait for warmer weather to “attach” the Bedrug via Velcro strips to the bed. They won’t stick well unless the temp is above 50 degrees or so.

I’ve always had the rubber bed mat from Toyota in my two 2nd gens, but upgraded a bit for my 2018.

Recently installed an extang encore and had a similar question, although I haven't done the brass fittings (yet). Was thinking of just drilling through the bedmat, which would then hold the drain tubes and channel the water into the smaller drain holes underneath.
