Personally I dont have much of an opinion on Bull Bars. I have never considered one.

Only bad rap is that they sliced and diced the bed to install it. Once it is fitted correctly then seal is good. But it is BUTT UGLY! Just my personal opinion cus it sits on top. Personally like the flush mount

Thanks for all the tips guys. I went with the Gator Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover. This thing is really nice and proved to be water tight as it went thru the carwash today. Highly recommend it.

@DesertTaco4x4 Yea man, I have had it for a while now. Took it on a couple of beach trips, and to the mud park. By far the easiest install and removal I have seen. I never put on the bed liner part that goes around the tailgate, but I havent had any issues with water getting in. Congrats man, your going to love having it when it comes time to take a trip.
I'm currently looking at getting my truck leveled out, but finding anyone with just a level kit has turned into a pain. lol

Haha yea man, I have to go up to conferences in Peachtree City sometimes. Great place to go up to, always make time for TacoMac while up there.
As far as the weather stripping, no I didn't put the extra on there. It comes with one that is attached to the cover, it seals to the top of the tailgate, its a 3 or 4 stage seal there. There will be a long, rope looking thing that comes with it, you will need to cut it into 3 pieces, measured of course. These three pieces will go on either side of the tailgate and under the tailgate. These are the ones that I have not installed. At this point I haven't seen a need for them.

The only tip I have for this one, if it leaks at all, its because one of your latches came lose a bit the last time you folded the cover back. As long as when you re-latch it, you make sure its tight, it wont leak.

On a side note, what size tires did you end up going with, and did you do any, or need to do any modifications to suspension to fit them?

If you decide on a solid type that lifts like a trunk, checkout A.R.E . I had a color match one on my Nissan and now I'm waiting for my new one to come in for the taco. They look nice, they lock etc. I think I paid around 1300 for my six foot bed. Good luck

@dmorris05 Thats awesome man. Being a distributor, is it only the covers, or can you provide some insight into their leveling kit. Im looking at getting one, but holding back because I cant find anyone that has the kit installed....

How many clamps/brackets on these? How wide are the brackets? I have tri-fold hard vinyl tonneau and about lost it a coupla times on the frwy (at some mysto speed) from the wind jostling it around enough for the clamp to get off the bracket and about fly away. So.............I moved bedrail cleats near front brackets and strapped the frame down to bed cleat in addition to the bracket/clamp being in place. Added more bed cleats on center section and strapped center section to bed cleats same way thru framing where it had no brackets in center of it's own. The rear section I left as is because those aren't under pressure from wind as much, won't loose it if those come loose & the rear section gets lifted up on occasion to stow items. Even if the clamp gets off of the bedrail bracket now, the straps are there for backup and the cover goes nowhere. Not sure if this has ever been issue for anyone else.

Sounds like same setup as mine - brackets in bedrails up front and towards rear with clamps that pull it down on bed. I think this would be OK as long as you never drive over 60, or less if very windy.

Just posting up info for heads up, I had mine tightened down very snug too. I however, may or may not have, ;) gone 1 mph or more than what you posted to break it loose from it's moorings. :anonymous: It did happen without doing any frwy driving once too tho, it just took longer to happen. That's when I said F this and strapped it down more.

More on topic.......I chose not to use the rubber strips across front of bed and top of tailgate to seal more completely since it was within 16th of touching anyway and didn't think the tailgate one would ever stay in place. I got very little water inside the bed driving in hard rain or washing vehicle even without those extra pieces.

@DesertTaco4x4 Man that's awesome, I didn't even know they offered a separate package for that. Is it a TSS rim or something?
