Thinking about order a tonneau cover (leaning towards tonnopro trifold) but am confused about how they would install with our bed rail system. It doesn't look like we could use the clamps like they show in their online installation manual.

Tonno Pro soft Tri Fold bed cover
I have the same cover and the clamps fit right into the bed rails and do not interfere with the rails, I have the soft cover.

I have the hard cover tri-fold from tonneau pro. The clamps on the cover (front and rear) latch to small anchor points that you slide into the bed rail system. If you were to remove the cover completely these anchors stay in place and wouldn't really be noticable except that they're silver instead of black.

The soft tri-fold I had (the brand is slipping my mind at this second) clamped right into the bedrail system.

Torzatop is the only one i know of that does not require brackets to stay on the bed rails. It is all one piece with no additional hardware. It is the one i will purchase when i get rid of my cap.

I just installed a Tonno Pro LoRoll in my 2014 Tacoma TRD. Mankind what a bear !! They say it's a 20 minute install in the instructional video. BULL !!...heh. It is an okay cover and looks nice, but installing it is tricky. They have these "Relief cuts" in the side rails which they say are necessary for the Tacoma, and I do not see why. There is an upward bend in the rails where they are cut. They cause an enormous headache when trying to tight the rails down so they seal properly. I called Customer Service and the guy said it was supposed to be like that. I do not see why. All around the front and sides looks like it seals good and would hold off a good downpour but where the tailgate closes, there are small gaps. I can see where rain could get in. They do supply some SureSeal strips. Plenty of it actually so I am sure with some putting it here and there I can fix that minor problem. All in all it looks nice but be prepared to spend a few hours installing it inless you luck up and fit it exactly right the first time.

I have a truxedo low profile roll up. Its awesome. I have had one of these on my old truck too. Velcro all the way down the sides. Mounts on the rails and I have never had anything get wet under there either
