    Hey Guys -
Just put my factory tonneau cover on (craigslist buy) and so far I do love it. Only complaint is that there's spots near the front (gap between the bed sides and the front header rail) and the seams between the folds along the sides tend to leak a little bit.

These aren't MAJOR leaks, but I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions or tricks on what I can do to fill in the front gaps or holes to help slow it down slightly. We've had a lot of rain here in Oregon lately, but I bought this mostly to put our luggage in during road trips so it's ok if a tad bit of water gets in there, but I want to make sure our luggage isn't soaked after 8 hours :)

    Any suggestions appreciated! :)

Yup, most get shipped with some kind of stuffing for that gap...i used that black caulk type substance that you would use in sealing windshields...very plyable...like play doh, but better

What's the windshield seal stuff you used called? Same as linked above?

Do you have photos of where you placed yours?

Could use black sugru from Amazon. I use it on my exterior security camera cords to make them waterproof, stuff is awesome and not permanent

if you want to spend the money this was posted in another thread a while ago

    Gasket part from toyota.
    64975-04010 for Left side
    64976-04010 for right side

Might be cheaper in the US, but here dealer quoted me $43 each. The little bit of water I get I do not care about lol.
If anything I might do what @0210 suggested or something.

Was even thinking just buying some sort of weather stripping or something.

I just found some butyl tape on Amazon.ca for $15. Its on back order but whatever when it comes it comes, (1-3 weeks it said)

Going to give it a try.
Didn't realize that the shit we use to seal switch gear is butyl tape haha. If only the stuff we have at work was black I'd just be taking it. I always knew of it as duct seal as its the same thing, but after googling butyl tape its what we use at work.

Center console divider thingy, rubber bed mat and side steps for the wife.
My suggestion, other than what has been offered above is, if you don't have one already, get a bed mat. Aftermarket/OEM whatever. I have the factory cover and got a bed mat first thing. What water that does get in, goes under the mat, never on top and stuff does not slide around on it.

so then you get mould and mildew? lol

I have the mat and yes its great.
But really I barely get any water in mine. The only reason I realized I get some was cause I had my hi viz sweater in there and went to put it on and noticed it was a little damp on the sleeve.

I have a bed mat and I do agree a lot of whatever is slowly leaking through the tonneau just runs down the sides of the inside of the bed walls and under the mat. It works well, but there's one or two spots that are somehow spraying about a foot into the mat. Mostly on the back-most fold along the seam passenger side
