Picture say it all. The cover is giving me 2+ MPG more. I still have the air dam on also.

How many miles have you had the cover on? I think the truck does a little bit of learning in teh first few thousand miles, so you might be seeing the results of that too.

For me, the picture is saying "small sample size."

Sorry. Coincidence. This has been tested by real testers for hundreds of thousands of miles. Best you get is a few tenths more and that is only with a soft cover.
With a hard cover, it's a wash because of weight.

Sounds like it's on par with an aftermarket Air Filter.

I believe Mythbusters tested this and found no difference. I know they tested tailgate up/down.

The cover has been on my truck most of the time, but when off I didn't notice a difference.

Can you link to studies or tests showing this?

There is a video of Ford engineers saying that a tonno does increase fuel efficiency.

So many variables here. Wind, temperature, incline/decline, fuel quality, driving habits, etc. The only way to scientifically prove any MPG differences would be to isolate all those variables. That would require at a minimum an indoor driving course to eliminate weather variables. Not sure that exists...

Wind is the biggest factor that affects MPG in my opinion. Sure, I can get 25mpg highway with the wind at my back, but with a 10-15mph headwind, I'll get 16 at best.

I installed some magnets around my injectors so I don't need fuel anymore.

Weight matters more than aerodynamics at low speeds and uphill. On flat ground at freeway speeds aerodynamics count much more. The weight of a tonneau is pretty insignificant on level ground but the improvement in aerodynamics isn't. Quoting mythbusters as a source is so cute, their show was entertaining as hell but their science was deplorable.
