    Hello forum,

Before I wrote this post I researched the different choices: Bak Roll X, Undercover, Tri-Fold covers, etc. For my needs I am leaning towards the folding style Tonneau.

From those of you that have these types of Tonneaus, which is the most secure, sturdy, and lets the least amount of water in?

The Undercover is the best (security and water resistant) but it requires removal for large objects.

The soft tonneau is not as secure.

Seems like the folding types have a little of everything.

I like the G4 Elite but everything looks good when it's new and on the youtube vids. I would greatly appreciate some TW members real world experience with them. I'm sure that this topic has been beaten to death but the more I look the more undecided I become. LOL!

Also, I plan to buy a pop-n-lock when I buy my tonneau.

Thank you Forum for your help.
    :)

Also, do they seal good on the sides? Our beds are not smooth on top. Do you need to add some calking or silicone to properly seal the gap between the tonneau rail and the top of our beds?

BTW, I understand that water may trickle in on the edges but what I din't want is to have luggage in the middle if the bed having water falling on it. It's not like I'm going to place any fabric up against the wall of the bed. Just don't want water coming down in the middle.

    Thanks again folks!
    :)

Ive got the roll up type cover by truXedo and couldnt be happier. its very rain/water tight along the bed rails and corners. The reason i stayed away from the folding ones is that you lose a third of your bed unless you get the really expensive bakflip cover, not sure if theyve made other options in the past year.

I just recently added the pop n lock tailgate lock that goes IN the tailgate, and works with the key fab....straight up awesome, Highly recommend

The Bakflip is the bomb. Folds all the way up out of the way, locks down tight and looks great. Costs about $1k though. My former boss had one, but I always thought for that much $$ I might as well get a Leer cap.

I've got an Extang tri fold. I must say it's surprised me as to how watertight it is. The only time I noticed a leak was after a hi pressure automatic carwash. I've also got a bed mat so any gear does not sit directly on the floor.
If needed, you can totally remove it in less than a minute, and putting it back on is a breeze.

I have an undercover flex. Been through some heavy rains and have had almost no leakage. I had to adjust it a little but if you do have leakage it's easy to spot and correct the problem. Appears to be a well made and thought out product. It's on an 08 reg. cab with 6 ft bed.
