TONNEAU OR TOPPER

I was getting my tire replaced the other day and a guy pulled into the shop in a Gen 2 Taco.
Ask me if I wanted a Tonneau for my truck. I said how much, he said free, i said yes.
Its for a Gen3 so it wouldnt fit his. Turns out its an OEM Toyota tri fold.

Pretty good deal if you wanted a tonneau but I was leaning toward a topper. Plus It didnt come with hardware and from what I can tell I would have to remove my bed rails and replace with ones made for a toneau.

Anyone ever installed a factory Tonneau on a Gen3?

 

Yes not hard you can get the pins they call them from Toyota parts Dept.you use your rails just have to cut trim the spots where the pins come out & under the rails the places to mount them is there with self bolts holes ready to screw in no guess work the screws can get from Toyota as well or hardware store FYi love mine works Great.

You asked how hard is it to install a factory oem bed cover so I explained it in detail & where to get the parts if your missing them.

Yep sounds crazy but it can be true since most people don’t like the hastle of getting parts & making it work on there truck if not all complete.the one I got from the seller bought his from the dealer with in on his truck & he needs it for work & had tool boxes mounted on his truck so he was never going to use it and the idiots that installed them for him only gave him the pins & screws no covers for the cut outs so I got this from Toyota parts problem solved & installed it my self not hard.

 

People are not hat nice in Arizona lol they would probably try to sell it to you for retail without hardware and tell u that’s all u need lol .

 

I had a guy come up to me and try to sell me his stolen golf clubs once - right outside the golf course too!
