Tonneau suggestions?

I'm looking for a tonneau cover. I don't wanna spend a ton of money on it. I found one online called American TriFold. Anyone heard of these or have experience with them? Reviews are great but I've become weary of reviews lately particularly after dealing with Amazon. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

 

What I can say is that trifold covers take up space when folded up and roll up take up no space. I knew I was getting a soft cover that offered little protection from thieves and also didn’t want a hard cover with too much hardware and joints in case I break a piece. I went with a soft roll up. It serves the purpose of keeping things dry and out of sight of people and rolls up for when I need all 6ft of my bed. Buy a cover that suits your need and budget.

 

I second the soft rollup. They cover your stuff so people can’t see it. You can lock it. You can use you truck as a truck and put over sized loads in the back still. I had one on my 2500HD for years with no issues. It was also my first add to my truck after I got my 2020 in nov. .

I did not want the Toyota one because all the reason I mentioned above.

 

I have a roll up, access vanish. Cheap on Amazon and holds up super well, even 4 years later

you should check this out. its slim like the bakflip tri folds. idk how durable it is compared to the the bakflip. I ended up just buying a BAKFlip MX4 the other day because I was able to get a good deal shipped to Hawaii so I went towards that brand vs this one. I also heard rough country is still good and its as slim as the bakflip.

 

Adding another vote for soft roll-ups. Love my Truxport Truxedo. Another advantage of roll-ups is that they tend to be cheaper too.

I'm also in the market for a tonneau and on the higher end (for me), I've been looking at the Lomax tri-fold tonneau. (Message member GotExhaust for pricing) I like the look of this one and it has good reviews. On the lower end, I've been kicking around these two for my DCLB:

Right now I am leaning towards either one of the Amazon ones. Theft is something I think about, but isn't that high on the list. For me, I just want to keep things I put in my bed out of the elements and out of sight. I don't store anything in my bed long term either. The two from Amazon will do that and worst case if I don't like it or my needs change, I'm not out a ton of money on either moving on to something else.

I was actually leaning towards the trifold because I don't really need full use of the bed on a regular basis, and it seems like they are easy enough to take off when you need full use. Keeping a few things in the bed and out of the elements would be the main reason for the cover for me. I've read a bunch of reviews and it seems like a common problem with roll up covers is that they catch wind in one spot or another and lots of people mentioned being concerned that the cover might blow off at highway speeds. I actually ordered one already, a trifold from Tonneaucoversworld.com and then I get an email a few hours later stating that they are gonna take 3 weeks to ship it because of the coronavirus. A little aggravating that I was told it ships 5-6 days when I ordered it (to get the sale) and suddenly there is a delay that the rep wasn't aware of a few hours later. Then I couldn't get a hold of anyone until I pretended to be a new customer looking to place an order. After all that, doesn't seem to be the company I wanna spend my money with. Maybe I'll try one of the Amazon ones.

 

Right now Amazon is delaying some thing after you order as well.
