Purchased the tri fold soft tonno pro cover for my 3rd gen, ended up returning it.

Pros-easy to install and take off, like 5 mins to take off

Didnt flap around on the freeway

Cons-leaked a bit of water (not a big deal to me)
Biggest con was it wasn't flush where it folds in the middle, I saw an f-150 on the freeway with the same bulge on its cover and sure as shit, turned out to be a tonno pro. It was just supposed to be a temporary thing until I got a cap but I'll just go topless for now

I had one too and noticed the bulge but the biggest problem was the constant flapping of the cover at higher speeds. If you clamp it down harder the ribs pull down and the soft cover gets looser. If you clamp down loosely it leaks and moves on top of the box. I eventually got rid of it and bought a hard cover which I really like.

Which cover do you have? I was looking at the extang hard fold but I believe that's 900 and nearing camper shell money territory

I have a Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite (Steffens Automotive in Michigan). You can open and lock either end (it has 4 panels) and you can still use you tie downs and the mounting system is one of the best with door or automotive type mounts with no drilling of holes. The only negative is that it is a little harder to take off - you have to remove 4 bolts and probably 2 people to handle. Hope this helps Jeff
