I am, admittedly, not the handiest when it comes to most of the mods on the board so please be kind. If it involves cutting/wiring/ etc - I'm likely not going to try it.

I recently bought a TonnoPro cover and put it on my 2014 short bed Tacoma.

I used the brackets that came with the cover and installed in the rails. I am still a bit paranoid about the damn thing flying off when cruising down the highway.

I also am getting a rattle on the back glass when driving. I've checked multiple times and the hook that is used when the cover is folded doesn't touch the back glass. The cover doesn't move when I try to move it either.

The front (near cab) corners don't fully touch the bed but I have read from others that this may be the case - if anyone can confirm.

Is there a way to tell if I've over tightened the clamps? The install directions weren't very clear on this.

    Thanks again for any insights.

How tight have you made the clamps? I tighten mine pretty good so that it takes a bit of force to turn it tighter. Basically the rubber gasket on the sides is completely compressed. The rear clamps are set so that I have to wiggle them into place before engaging the clamping mechanism. No rattles on mine at all.

My Tonno Pro has been a great investment! Every bit as good a tri-fold cover as those costing twice as much. I leave about a 1/2 inch gap between the cover and the cab. Make sure the plastic fold up buckle is not tucked between the cab and the cover, it will rattle against the cab, just leave it loose. (fold it to the rear of the truck away from the cab). I tighten the front clamps until the weather stripping in the front tri fold section is fully compressed, not crushed. The rear clamps are adjusted to just catch the bed rail clamp when cover is slightly compressed, when pushed down on the outside.

On mine if I DONT put the clips between the cover and the cab they rattle against the cab noticeably loud. And check your front screws from time to time I have had one of the front corners come off going 75. It didn't hurt anything and I'm not to sure how long it was like that..

I appreciate the feedback. I moved the cover towards the tail about 1/4 inch and re-tightened everything. I'll find out how effective this was tomorrow.
