Hey there. Love the truck! How do you like the OV and the 91 octane? I am just starting my build and I figured I might as well start there. I have read a lot of both ways, just curious to what you think.

I love it! Should be one of the first things you do to your Tacoma.

OK. But why though? That is the same response that I am reading from many people in many different threads and posts, but no-one really says why. Does running the 91 octane really make up the difference of having the 87 octane?

It’s not just switching to 91 octane, he’s running the OV Tune which is a better tune than stock. He has to run the higher octane because that’s what the tune requires. Just switching octanes will not provide any noticeable difference in the way the truck drives.

Sorry. I mistyped. I thought I read somewhere that OV had two tunes, and 87 and a 91. I understand that about the octanes as I have read MANY many threads on here. I just cannot find anyone who can tell me real world experiences with the OV tunes. I have read their site also, but I want to know if it really does what they say.

OVTune has the one tune that you load with different selections of 87/91/93 octanes. I have mine set on 93. You can go back and reload a lesser octane as he sends all three with the file.

Is that a front diff drop with LT? does it help with the CV angles?
