Too much rust on 08 4x4?

    The frame has definitely had something sprayed over it. So, pretty much like everyone said: scrape some of it off and see how bad it is. Everything else looks good though. I'm in TN and my truck isn't much better.

    The truck may be in Co. now but it may have come from somewhere else. I lived in Co for over 35 yrs and never had any rust. I also had a snowmobile and towed that on the weekends in the winter.
    I had 2 Toyota trucks in that time span and no rust. Maybe they changed what they put on the roads or something. My bet is, that truck came from a rust state.

    Edit: I guess they did change what goes on roads now.

    The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun using a salt brine mixture on roads before snowstorms to aid the melting process. ... Though it is corrosive, it is far less so than salt. Now with CDOT using salt on our roads, I believe we have seriously regressed in road hazard technology.Dec 26, 2016
