Hello! I'm in the market for an old Tacoma. I'm going to look at an '07 with a little over 100k miles. The body looks well cared for with almost no rust, but Im not sure if the frame is overly rusty. The seller sent me some photos. We do live in the Midwest, so salt and rust is normal to some extent. Thoughts?
    Thank you

For a 15 year old 100k mile Midwest truck it looks pretty good
You could treat that be good for a long time

Just don’t overpay vs a rust free southern truck

Maybe wire brush it down & spray some Rust-Oleum or something on it.

That's the original spare, lol :)

It's not good. But what I see should wire brush out.

It's hammer time. Someone in the past has tried to cover up the rust with paint and on the underside of the body, it looks like undercoating.

In the end, it comes down to price VS undercarriage rust.

I would have that as a second option.
    If nothing else is suitable.

Seems like it's a strong *maybe* from you guys lol. I definitely have to take a hammer to it and see if there's any weak spots.
What price would make this worth the risk? They're asking $13k which feels a bit much for an 07 SR5 4x4 with rust, but I'm not the best judge of that.

Start off at $7k & work from there, providing it's mechanically sound. It's gonna need a lot of elbow grease.

    Good Luck!

What others wrote, PASS! Too much rust, I would not buy it even if seller brings price down to $3,000. Don't want to deal with any BS after.
