Collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control was "not functioning."

I parked my truck facing west in the morning and it sat there until I got off work at 3pm. Did I mention it was in Phoenix? In the summer? Yeah, today and it was 112 degrees or so. I used the remote app and had the AC cranked before I walked out but, I got an unexpected surprise.

I had a dash warning that the radar for collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control was "not functioning." Oh well, nothing I can do about it now so, I start driving home. The truck thermometer said 117 degrees (woof) as I'm driving off. I get on the highway...still no radar love. But after 10 minutes or so at highway speed...the warning went off and cruise began to work normally.

This happened with snow/ice packed in it in Denver and I understand that. What the hell was this? Too hot? Too much sun?

I had that happen this weekend
While driving in a monsoon. I don’t miss that Arizona heat. There’s nothing “dry” about 117* lol.

That stuff goes on and off for me all the time. It’s not perfect.

I have gotten the radar error warning when driving into the sun in the morning or evening.

I'm also in phx, i dont have adaptive cruise or collision avoidance, but my truck is always parked in the sun when im at work and i've never had any issues with anything not functioning because of heat. Im also use a sunshade and crack my windows a tiny bit

Same. I don’t have any special features and everything works fine for me

I feel your heat - right here with you in the valley - drove early this morning it was only 98 degrees felt like I needed a sweater.

I suspect the direct sun into those devices could cause issues.... I have a laser thermometer that doesn't behave if it gets out into the sun.

Looks like we have a real cool-down coming soon... might have to throw another blanket on the bed.

    :hattip:Okay thanks,
I guess it's just a thing. No biggee. I figured as much when it started working again. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen.
