Took a second! (Them Dumb Moments) Own it!

Way back when I used to drink till midnight and get up for work at 5am still spinning, I grabbed Ben Gay out of the medicine cabinet instead of toothpaste. Only did that once.

 

I'm coming out of Wally World and see an older gentleman struggling to put his purchases in his vehicle.
I step up and say "need a hand sir?"
He barks back "NO, I've got it!"
I was somewhat surprised by the harsh response -- until I noticed -- the gentleman was missing his left hand...

 

What was he doing in your medicine cabinet? Just seems odd to me.

 

You’re probably thinking of Ben Dover. That’s a whole different story.

It’s not a dumb moment for me but we’re at the zoo yesterday (my sister, my daughter and myself). We’re at the petting zoo portion of it petting the goats. Everyone is having a great time. My daughter wants to go get on this tractor, but some other kids are on. I told her to wait her turn so she’s waiting patiently. Next thing, out of no where, this woman starts yelling “Girls get off the tractor we have to go! Girls seriously get off these ducks are becoming unruly! Oh my gosh let’s go these ducks are becoming aggressive!” You may ask what the little ducks were doing, literally wattling around. So cute! Woman ran out of the pen screaming “those ducks were so aggressive”

 

Another not my dumb moment, Matt recently pointed out to me out kitchen is “different.” Whenever they were building this house, like 10 years ago, they put the wrong door on one of our cabinets. He’s checked and I’ve checked all other cabinet doors match except this one. Below is evidence for your review

Haha! Eventually. Hopefully no one new notices when that happens

 

Meanwhile, elsewhere in town: Some guy walks into his kitchen and says "...hey, one door is different, I never noticed that...?"

 

Told her I was gonna go knock on the doors in the neighborhood only 12 other options! “Hey can I look in your kitchen real quick!”

 

I had a boss that used to do this. Our phone conversations used to go like this:

Me: Hello?
Boss: Hello?
Me: Hey, how are you doing?
Boss: Pretty good. Hey, I need you to...

Then I started switching it up.

Me: Hey Jeremy.
Boss: Pretty good.
Me: [Dying of laughter, but quietly]

 

I was doing some work this weekend and loading some stuff in the bed of my truck to take to the dump. Came back in to grab a quick drink before heading out. And mentally prepared my checklist. Wallet. Keys. Ph–where is my phone?

Ended up tearing the house apart for 15 minutes before listening to the chime from my apple watch. I keep it on vibrate so calling it would have been no use. I can hear it from the living room but it sounds distant. Figuring I dropped it outside while loading I go and look in the bed of my truck and and the ground near my truck. Nope, not there. Decide to chime it again near my front door and can tell its definitely not in the house. I get the worst scowl on my face and am prepared to tell my neighbor what a little shit he has for a child who steals other people's phones only to walk past and realize it was sitting on the top of the bedwall.

Jumping to conclusions almost started World War III.

 

I put glass plates and forks in trash can all the time and get halfway to the dishwasher before I realize.

 

Me too! I blame the silverware ghost! It’s sneaks around in the middle of the night and steals knifes and forks!

My youngest son used to be really bad about dumping his cereal bowl and spoon in the trash when he was done, and half the time we wouldn't even notice before taking the trash out.
