finally they got me a pyrite mica access cab today.really feels bigger than it looks.just to look at it seems low to ground and i know it is but to drive it ,it feels like a bigger truck.thinking of putting the 235 75 15s on it in white letters but hard decision when feels fine the way it is.can't imagine a little bigger tire will make it seem higher off ground,at least enough to tell. i have seen pictures on here of just the tire change and it did look better.any suggestions on tires that would be good for all driving.not looking to get a noisy ride.also i was wondering if these 215s would be a very marketable tire size and how much you would think they would be worth with 100 miles on them? input appreciated...

I kinda like the smaller size, in terms of the bed and height of it. I had a Ram that had the 20's on it, sometimes it got annoying trying to reach stuff or climbing in and out of the bed just to get something that slid where I couldn't reach it. I can fit in the garage now and parking is a lot easier.

i really like this truck.wondered about it coming from 8 f150s but as retired builder it is just enouugh to feel very stable.i too was goiung to get 235s but aftewr awhile it didn't seem so bad looking that i care.still think about it once in great while but hate to waste money!looking forward to winter and that might change my mind for snow tires anyway.enjoy your new truck.

I put 235-70-15s on my 5 lug Access Cab. I drive the Sunshine Skyway Bridge across Tampa Bay 2-3 times per week and the original 215s just weren't enough tire in the wind. Not dangerous but it squirmed when the gusts hit.

With the 235s I have much more control and the truck is a lot more stable. The speedometer now matches the GPS but the odometer now reads 3% slow.

I, too, like the size of the 5 lug truck and the ability to pick up something in the bed from the side without having to climb in the bed.

JDPCA-did the 70s make truck look alot taller?i too have noticed in ohio at 70 or more it does feel a little squirrly .how aggresive of tread did you go?mine came with dunlop grandtech and my tire dealer showed me wranglers and then he showed me how dunlops are as aggresive of tread but in blackwall they just don't look it until you are showed the difference. so basically i would be a larger tire but the same as far as snowy weather here according to him.

How do you like the difference in the look of the height ?

I've got the same Dunlop tires and 5000 miles on them, they say they are good for 60,000. I hate to spend money on something I don't need but at the same time I'm not real happy with the way they look. I was thinking about 225-75-15's as well.

Did it affect the gas mileage, speedometer, odometer ?

the 225 75 are just enough to make truck look correct .i'm not after a jacked up truck just as you the stock look too small.they should know better. i to did not want to replace such a good rated tire but was able to sell them for 300. so didn;t feel so bad.as far as speed i hear about 3 miles off at 60.so 6o is around 63.i think i paid just a little over 400 for mine. bought them because they have the snow emblem but are not a knobbie tire so they are quiet.mine are kumho -road venture sat.s is snow and at is all terrain.

When I saw the Pyrite Mica on a 2009 model at the High River dealership, I thought it just fit for that particular truck. Almost two years later I bought a 2010. Mine is a 5 speed as I tried several auto's and was disappointed. Almost went to Nissan until I located this one. I got the last beige interior in Canada. After 2010, no more beige interiors. I didn't like the grey. Again our choices have been slaughtered. Cannot get a double cab 4 banger here as well, I was told. 5 speeds are almost non-existent now.
My fuel economy is unbelievable. I always check against the scanguage 'cause I, at times think it's full of suit. But it is bang on. Amsoil from front to back and I recently installed an Amsoil bypass filtration system on it. I swear the oil looks cleaner now than when I changed it. 37000 km on it now. I am interested in a tool box like what 'Hammerman' has. Black preferably. TRD has some nice rims and Tirerack. But I can buy 25 oz. of silver for that. And when the the dollar and other currencies go for a shit, I will be in good shape.
But really, a tool box, maybe LED lights, and get some descent horns from a GMC or Ford. Even I laugh when I lean on 'er.
