I have had this ongoing vibration in my truck. Dealer has replaced almost everything in my drive line. Lately it was getting really bad, i could almost pin point it while driving comming from the drivers side wheel. Today i got it on the lift and checkes the ball joings, cv's, hell even the fluid in the fron differential. Come to find out after spinning the front wheels my drivers side wheel bearing is shot! When u spin it, it sounds like my father grinding the gears in his 63 corvette lol. So today i take it to the dealer expecting some bs excuse not to do the work, or them wanting to test drive it. Guy calls the parts dep tells me they have a bearing and will install it tomorrow! SWeet deal finaly i can get rid of this dang vibration! Then i come home in the shuttle to find my moms 99 durango blew up. Awsome now we may have a new 4 runner in the family.:)

Good job. I might have pushed for a rental since they hadn't figured it out yet.

That's got to be really frustrating. Sad that you have to find the problem. Why couldn't they figure that out on one of the previous visits. Aargh!

I take it that it's your 06 Tacoma? Might I suggest a different mechanic. To be honest a good mechanic would have found that problem in bout 10 mins..

    +1 on the rental!

I some how have managed to get a free rental the last three repairs I've had the dealer take care of. These were not problems I caused though, except for the time someone smashed a window to steal some goods. It just takes some being nice, and maybe even a demand on occasion :D!

Allot of these dealers have partnerships with rental companies, and a fair amount of them even have their own in house fleets.
