Read some article when Fear Innoculum was about to be released where Justin Chancellor and Danny Carey were asked if this was the last album, Justin said he 'hopes so' lol. Danny didn't know for sure.

If there is another one I'm sure it's another several years off, knowing them. Hopefully not 13+ years though.

    Yeah.
I didn't get great seats, but not behind the stage. The ones behind the stage were even more expensive. Maybe closer to the band, but that's just a terrible place for viewing and sound.

    Yeah.
Keep checking back. Ticketmaster showed all sections selling out pretty quickly, then a bunch opened up again.

I could have gotten good floor seats for $438. But nah.

If it wasn't a 6 hour drive I might have done it, but once I figured gas and a hotel room it just wasn't worth it. I'm kinda regretting not grabbing aftershock tickets now, but they'll come back around I'm sure.

The ticket buying experience was a shit show this morning. I logged in 10 min early, had everything ready and as soon as they went on sale I was placed in the queue and a message stating there were already 2000+ people ahead of me. (I knew it was going to be popular.) After 20 min in the queue, I was finally presented a map of the venue and all the seats available, however I found very quickly this was not true as every seat I selected I was only met with a taunting little box telling me some "fan" had already purchased those seats. This little dance went on for 30 min until all the tickets were sold out and I shit you not it didn't take more than 30 seconds before all these "re-sale" tickets were being listed at outrageous prices. Fuck Ticketmaster.

Anyway, TOOL did announce another Denver show on the 16th of October and those tickets go on sale next Friday. I'm hoping my luck will be better.

    Stuff. Also things.
I’d love to see them again live, but it just isn’t worth it to me. Between dealing with Ticketmaster and the exorbitant prices, I’m out. If it were Red Rocks, maybe, but the Pepsi Center? No thanks.

:fingerscrossed: for you to get tickets to the second show, though! Hopefully there isn’t any fuckery afoot this time.

Same here, got to finally see them live at a music festival in San Bernardino a couple years ago (Primus was on before them, was awesome). Don't want to deal with all the fuckery going on with prices and queues and what not.

I heard Fear Innoculum (the song) on satellite radio quite a while before I got my copy of the album and I have to say I was disappointed with the song. But only for Maynard's part. If I could have dubbed him out it would have been great. I just didn't like the harmonizing he brought. Especially toward the end. Felt more like an APC track.

Now the thing to consider is that sound quality on satellite radio is not great. Compound that with the fact that the stereo in my work truck is terrible too and you've got a recipe for failure. But I lowered my expectations for the rest of the album based on my impression of that song.

    Fast forward to release day.
I didn't pre-order it and I was lucky to find the last and maybe the only copy at my local Walmart. I could have downloaded it but that's not how I wanted to hear it. I need to hold this thing I've waited 13 years for and I need to hear every part of it. I can't remember ever being as happy to hold a CD in my hand as I was in that moment. Took it out to my truck and popped it in, skipped straight to track 2 because I didn't need to hear FI again. As soon as I heard that first riff I knew I loved it. It sounded like Lateralus but fresh. It felt like home. As a fan who really didn't care for 10k days all that much (although it did grow on me quite a bit) this was a huge relief. It kind of brought a tear to my eye. Then I got it home and put it in a real sound system. That's when I was truly floored. This music is meant to be felt as much as it is heard. I think a lot of people who dislike it just need to hear it on a quality setup at about as high a volume as they can stand. Or better yet live. If you've been to a Tool show you know they bring some serious equipment and it sounds the way they want you to hear it. I even gained a new appreciation for the title track.

Anyway, I felt like my username and avatar requires me to say something in here. So there you have it.

    Yeah.
I've never been able to catch them live, and I told my wife a long time ago that they are the only band I really want to see at this point. I was stoked to hear they were coming to Tulsa -- only a 2 hour drive, and obviously a bit easier to score tickets than more populated areas. Taking my wife and daughter -- my daughter doesn't really listen to them on her own, but she doesn't mind when I blast them in the truck and has grown to appreciate Maynard (with some explanation).

I was almost afraid to listen to the album for fear of disappointment. But on good headphones? Awesome.

I logged in about 30 minutes before the sale.. Hit the waiting room 4 minutes before sale. Jumped on a call with my boss 30 seconds before sale... Got the ticket selection just after on sale. Sorted by best available... Tossed two in my cart, punched in my cc code and checked out all while listening to my boss blab. One of the better sale expieriences for me. Tm does suck.

From what I’ve heard, this is the album we’ve been waiting for. Similar to when Alice In Chains released jar of flies. Everything is just right. The timing of release. The long melodic songs. It’s just perfect

Seriously, 2 fucking shows in that hopeless fucking hole they call LA, but not one damn show in NorCal.

Between this and their mediocre 13year to compose album, my excitement over Tool has been squashed and replaced with apathy.
