I thought this was silly at first too. But now love em! What’s the goofy D-rings over the bed cubby mod? Asking for a friend :D

I'ts an old thread that I can't seem to find at the moment, but the concept pops up from time to time. Search for gas can secure mod, or "how do you secure your gas can", I think. It's been a few years.

Fasten a set of 6 light duty D-rings (I used jeep-knockoff square rings) over the bed cubby mounting bolts. It gives you infinite ways to bungee small stuff to the bed.

Note, those with 2019s or newer have to get creative for the driver's side bolts since they aren't there anymore.

My wife insists on carrying a huge ass insulated bottle and since I enjoy modifying camping gear I decided to whip up my own bottle holder with some scraps I had. I’ll post pics after I fit it in my truck but after 18 pages of posts I’m sure you guys already got the idea.

Went with the smaller straps, nylon liner and a 4" diameter rather than 4.5" - fits like a charm ! Thanks Taylor !

The oem cup holders are pretty lousy, especially not being able to remove them to clean them....makes zero sense.

Ordered my chalk bag from Taylor over the weekend and she did a single short strap with a brush loop on a standard size bag with a nylon liner, just the way I wanted. She was emailing me with some questions on Monday and sewing it together and I got home from work and it was in my mailbox. Looks great! Thanks again Taylor! Taylor Carpenter - taylor@staticclimbing.com
Edit: If I had to do this again, I would order the bag with two straps instead of a single one. Two would keep it more stable and it wouldn’t lean forward if you brake hard or go down steep embankments like the single strap does. Hope that helps someone!

Ordered mine on Friday. Taylor sent me a list of the most common "Tacoma mods"to choose from. It was stitched and shipped by Saturday and arrived today, after Monday's holiday. Great service and the product looks well-made. Pics forthcoming.

Decided to pull the trigger on a set of these. Taylor and I went back and forth on a few emails and she had them shipped out on Tuesday. Received today and they're awesome! Went with a bunch of the "Tacoma mods" ha and even got a new one added on. She removed the drawstring for me and put some velcro in its place. So I can add a couple patches if I want, haha.

Another satisfied customer! Like a lot of others on here, I had a great experience communicating with Taylor and installing the bag. Can't say enough good things about how helpful and friendly she was. After a couple questions I decided to keep the bag as is, in case I ever decide I'd rather use it as it was originally intended as a chalk bag. But for the time being, it looks great, fits great, and I can't wait to brag about how cool STATIC was about it.

Big thanks to the OP for getting this started and thanks to Taylor and her small team at STATIC for helping us all out!

EDIT: I forgot to add that I decided to hot glue the threaded bolt to the insides of nylon straps. Just a small dab. I was worried that over time, the bolt might shake loose and rattle around in there. And hot glue gives me the option to remove it later if I decide to reclaim it as a functioning chalk bag. Also made the install easier.
