My cheap-o Amazon bags turned out great. Most useful $20 mod to date

    Cool mod, OP.

People, you might as well learn to climb a bit if you are rocking these. Don’t be the guy with the 1911 replica shifter for your MT that doesn’t know how to handle a legit SAO...

$10...10 minute mod. If you live in UT, you can get these buy one get one free at Rec. outlet. I used the hook on the back to mount them.

Did the same thing but used a medium general purpose pouch to add a little loose storage.

There's one on each side, though they're not symmetrical due to the locking tabs being in different points.. Will hold a large bottle, radio, trash...whatever you want to dump into it.

    Thanks for the great idea!

I installed this tonight and, after a 6 hour install, I had a little time to take it out for a test drive. Wow! This little mod has added at least(!) 27hp and I'm pretty sure I felt some massively improved torque! When I pulled onto my street ALL of my neighbors were standing out on their lawns in stunned silence admiring how sweet my exhaust now sounds. As I pulled into my driveway a slow clap turned into thunderous applause and the flash bulbs blinded me as I made my way into the garage. The loud cheering slowly faded away as my garage door closed and, to be honest, it was nice to be alone w/ my thoughts for a minute. Suddenly the door to the house flew open and my wife came out to greet me w/ a huge hug and kiss telling me how proud she was of me!! Guys, my wife hasn't touched me in 6 years! Awesome! My kid came running out and jumped up into my arms telling me that he got an unexpected email from his principal saying that they had graded him wrong all year and he's now the front runner for valedictorian! Hell, even the dog smiled and slapped my ass as I walked into the house. Everyone has since gone to bed, exhausted from the excitement of the day but I can't sleep. So, here I sit, drinking an ice cold brew, basking in the glory of an amazing mod.

Seriously though, it's kind of ridiculous how happy this little mod makes me. Great idea OP!

Don't judge how dirty my truck is! We were in the San Juans recently and I haven't had time to clean it yet.

I was one of the neighbors applauding - my wife left me immediately afterwards due to my "lack of initiative" for stuff like this. Kudos!

True story. She broke into my garage and I had to kick her AND her 32oz bottle out of my truck this morning!

The Static Climbing waxed bags on Etsy that Taylor makes are really nice. The quality is definitely better than some that I've looked at. She hand makes them to order and she's a really cool person to deal with. I'm glad I was able to support her during these times. Just fyi. Thanks again OP.

1000000% Her products are phenomenal and well made and there's lifetime warranty on the stitching. I also told her about the exposure her products are having on TacomaWorld and she was stoked to hear about us as well and I think is working with @RyanDCLB on some custom options for us.

Sorry to quote my own post but wanted to show off her products again....

I have to chime in on the quality and attention to detail on the bag I got from Taylor. If she comes up with some Toyota specific designs I guess I’ll get another! I was only going to put one on the passenger side because I rest my leg where drivers’ side would go, but I will get another one because she’s putting out high quality gear.

Truck is at the dealership for my 15k... I walked down the street to this creek and did some frankenstitching to the static climbing bag so it's just one layer on the straps so as to not make a gap in the console.
Not a bad place to chill while the truck gets serviced.
    IMG_20200713_102045.jpg

    Edit:
Here is a picture installed, no gap for the console.
