You can't go wrong with Craftsman, I personally have them all,Snap-on,Matco,Wright,Craftsman,and Proto. I'm a natural gas engine tech, I use from 3/8'' to 3 1/2'' sockets and wrenches on 35hp to 2500 hp engines. For garage use Craftsman is all you need, the boxes are good as long as they have the roller bearings in drawers,as far as tool boxes I have Snap-on and Matco, but most of my tools are in my work bed on my truck . I stay away from the rachets ,and un-polished wrenches, the rachets wear out fast and the wrenches are hard on the hands, with the sharp edges, Harbor Freight I'd stay away from, If you would have a Proto dealer near by I'd go with them, but there is a Sears everywhere for tool swap, buy good rachets and polished wrenches, I hit the pawn shops alot and I pick up some sweet deals, my .02

I'm a mechanic. I was Snap-on, Matco, and craftsman tools. Or what ever gets the job right.

Seems like these days I do pretty good ordering handtools from McMaster-Carr, www.McMaster.com industrial quality at Sears prices.

On Torx and other driver bits, Wiha is fantastic, and on pneumatic sockets and garage equipment, Tooltopia, www.tooltopia.com.

In a pinch, your local napa store usually has decent quality. And often, If I just need one socket or replace something that broke, Northern Tool is OK.

Go to strictlytoolboxes.com and check out the Montezuma 72" elite. I bought mine 2 years ago and was the best box for the money. It is just as heavy duty as any of the tool truck guys at less than half the price.43630022.jpg43630017.jpg

Hate to ask the obvious question, but isn't that a little tall for a man of your stature? I'm Tall, but really do not think I would ever use a box that was a couple inches shorter than myself.

Not being funny either. I genuinely want to know.

I'm not that short between 5'9" and 5'10". The quality of these boxes is very good. I would say that they are just as good as Snap on or Mac. The paint on them is a little softer than I would like but mine is holding up. Go to the website Strictlytoolboxes.com and check them out. Free shipping is also a plus. I am very happy with mine.

Yeah I've always wondered what people use the top drawers for. Use a step stool? I guess I'd rather have a 72 with a side cabinet or two.

Craftsman is ok for the weekend warrior, but if your gonna be opening the drawers all day long it'll never hold up. I've had all 3 major brands and I think they are all good. Currently have a Snap-on KRL1022, only reason I traded was i wanted a hutch and picked this box up with a hutch on it for what it would have cost me to put a hutch on my MAtco box I had.

Watching, or waiting for the show is my take on it. I have mostly craftsman, and agree that there old ratchets suck, but the new slim line ones are much better. I also have some Kobalt and Husky since the wife works at home depot. I used to work at lowes also. Its all lifetime warranty which is fine with me. I have a Huot box that was my uncles from the early 70's and it is still going strong. I use it at work.

Craftsman, but I absolutely despise the fact that sears has them made in China now. All of my good tools say USA on them. To me, Snap-on is a pointless waste of money. I know they make great stuff, but it ain't plated in 24k gold. Their pricing is just ludicrous. Not only that, but you have to find one of there little trucks to even buy the crap. If I want to buy a wrench, I sure as hell ain't playing where's waldo with the tool guy so I can buy his enchanted Snap On tools.
