Husky makes a decent knock-off of the 63-A-LP for about $250.

Black paint also adds to the cost, you can get unpainted cheaper also.

You think the UWS box is expensive? Look up prices for a Weatherguard brand box or Snap on road chests, that’s big baller territory.
If you can find the UWS locally it’s around $330-$350.

The snap-ons aren't really the same though I mean in way of diamond plate truck toolboxes. But still it seems the boxes get in the $300 of you want black

If you're looking for the best, check out Cam-Locker.

I’ve been eyeing the CamLocker toolbox. Seems pretty well built and I like the latches better. What was the price on yours, if you don’t mind me asking?

Never much cared for how most people mount crossover boxes with j-hooks.
When I had a crossover, I used the Better Built Grip Rites bolted to the side rail with T-nuts.

    How did that work?

I picked up a black Kobalt box new for $150 and want to mount it securely.

It's two pieces per side; meant to pinch under the bed rail.
I only used one piece per side; bolted to the bed rail with either a spring nut(sans spring) or t-slot nut.

    2 piece

Where did you get the t slot nut? I got a u-bolt that had the piece of metal jussssttttt big enough and in my haste of not having proper nut I may or may not have JB welded a nut to that panel to fabricate my own t slot nut lol.

Theres an old post showing someone used part of a Leer mount and Im going to check a topper store in my area on my next day off.

Man that's kind of expensive after the better built mount and all. Tractor Supply has a mount I'm gonna try and pick up at work tomorrow for $12 and it looks pretty solid.

Once my JB weld sets I'll try that cause I do like the better built mount.
