Hello, i thought i saw a Thread awhile ago about this but i just can not locate it....

I am have a small amount of tools, just household & light mechanic work items... I would like to get something like this:
    http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-46...id-Wood-Top-7440946/204354788?N=5yc1vZc2gkZrd

I searched my local CL, some Nice toolboxes, SnapOn, Matco etc. but can not swing that kinda of $$$$.

$500 would be my limit.. Any Suggestions????

Thank you for any wisdom you can share...

I'd say that's a pretty good box for the money. The big difference between a Husky box and a Matco etc. is going to be the structural rigidity and strength of the box. So, if you aren't planning on using the box as a mobile workbench and don't plan on moving it around when it's full of tools, I say go for it!

On the other hand, if you want to really load it up with tools or move it around when full, maybe hold out and keep haunting craigslist and look for an older box like this one:

Thank you for getting back to me..... I will keep on an eye on CL for another month, see what shakes down. I was doing some reading about the strength difference. I know that the husky is, Ummmm very Tineeee. Will not stand up to abuse like the others. It will be for light duty and tools.. That is a Great toolbox for that price!

    Check the TTORA Garage Section....
Husky is a good brand... Before I bought my LISTA, I had a used rolling Craftsman for a decade.
I would also check out garage journal forum, great forum for garage, tools, etc. and deals.

Oh this is my rolling box.

Get the Harbor Freight 44" box. For the money...you can't beat the quality. It far surpasses the quality of anything you are going to buy at Home Depot, Lowes, and all of what you will find on the floor at Sears, in that price range. There are many threads like this on here and places like "Garage Journal".

You are money on the HF 44". One of the best deals going

Garage Journal is run by a limp dick by the name of 'Ryan' and a band of former high school geeks with their tongues shoved firmly in Obama's asshole. The members are cool and knowledgeable but the homos that run the site are unbearable.

Nothing against the kobalt but the HF one is $120 cheaper....bigger....and guaranteed for life....not a 3 yr like the kobalt. The HF box also has thicker guage metal, and dbl rollers on the bigger drawers. It's not just a personal opinion.

    Look at build!
I have the HF roll cart with 5 drawers and have been using it for about 2 years not without a hiccup, been thru 4 different shops now! I will eventually get the bigger one when I move to a bigger shop!

^Is there any chance you could save up a little more money? For around a grand you can get some really nice boxes. I bought my brand new Matco for $1000 on CL and it retails for about $5000...

I know that this is marketing material, but check this video out. I had my box tip over in the back of my truck and it was put through something similar to this drop test. (I was retarded in my tie downs....) Long story short, that was before all the above pictures were taken. The paint was hardly scratched and my box still looks mint. Needless to say, I've been impressed with the quality.

I have that husky. I love it. Make sure you pop over to Amazon and buy the drawer liners. You need 3 rolls.

I also bought the 52" husky tool box. That one came with liners it retails for $600 I think.

I bought both during Black Friday. Do you want pictures? If so pm me.
