Anyone else see the season premier? One of the Hi Lux's from the Arctic trip was refitted to climb a volcano in Iceland. Man I wish Toyota would offer that model here- I really like the lines of it, and a diesel would make it perfect. What a great show as well.

You know, it is still a bit of a mystery to me why toyota doesn't offer a diesel version of the tacoma in the us.

Environmental regs would make it prohibitively expensive and unprofitable. Example A: Volkswagen Jetta TDI, starting at about 23k and going up from there. Like deisel enough to pay Accord money for something that competes with the Civic?

The same reason no one else offers diesel below the medium truck market in the US.

    Scanguage.....i'm working on more lol
I drive a Hilux when I am deployed. It is a 4 door 4 cyl diesel. I would love to have that thing back here. That thing takes so much abuse and just keeps on running.
I know one of the issues with that truck in particular is it meets none of the emmision standards for the US. Once to Americanize the truck it would probably just be a regular Tacoma haha.

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
Yep, saw that on Top Gear.

AS for trucks available in the rest of the world...... too bad they aren't here.

Yup I was looking at his gallery not too long ago. I think his name is either Tommigunn or Tommigumm...can't remember exactly, but his setup was ridiculously badass. Actually it looked like all of those Icelandic trucks were just badass.
