Ford is a good company, they make solid products. Their reputation is starting to rebound and might even catch up to Toyota's with the problems they've been having lately..

The EcoBoost is an intriguing experiment.

A lot of manufacturers are experimenting with FI now to meet upcoming CAFE standards without sacrificing power...the big question mark in my mind is will it have a deleterious effect on vehicle longevity?

The past 15 or so years have been the golden age of vehicles lasting forever because proven designs were highly refined. Adding FI to the mix, with your average consumers ignorance about car maintenance, might be...interesting to watch.

Probably has something to do with it. We don't have dune parks around here.

how do you know? toyota special edition trucks are crap

here's toyotas "specialty, off road" tundra...

    http://www.toyota.com/tundra/rock-warrior-edition.html

i doubt toyota would have the balls to build a truck that could hang w/ a raptor.

x2. Toyota is an extremely conservative company. They wouldn't want to invest the resources.

No one needs a Raptor, and the audience that wants one AND can afford it is relatively small compared to the market for most other vehicles. Toyota understands that 99% of vehicle sales in the US are about show, and the same go (get you there on pavement) works for almost everyone.

I give Ford props for producing a factory vehicle that you can say is off-road ready with a straight face. But there's a reason it is and will remain limited quantity. And don't expect Toyota to get on board with this any time soon. They don't need to...people who want a serious offroad Toyota vehicle buy Tacomas, 4runners, or Land Cruisers and aftermarket them up...like many of us on here...

Its most likely an electronic cutout. pretty much dumps the exhaust and bypasses the muffler.

I loved that part of the episode, especially when Foust said it was time to run over a Kia Rio. I would love to drive that truck!
