I'm still sayin no chance. If so then OP posted the thickest rotor in history. I don't see any venting on the rotor spine.

Even if it is a drum, it'd still be concerning that it looks like that. The plot thickens

Actually after looking really closely at mine I think those actually are rotors, heavily worn on the front as it's forming a lip, and obvisously something is seriously wrong. :/

The only thing I've seen make a rotor look even close to this was when some oil/unknown fluid contaminated the brake pad and/or cracked brake pad. Either way OP I'd tow this thing to the dealer

I went to the parking lot and there is a 2nd gen 2011, my 2013, and a 3rd gen all parked together.

I looked inside all the wheels.

Trying to figure out OP pic. based on the pic and seeing the hub part of the rotor, looks like a rotor.....
drums don't have that shoulder part.

IMHO OP pic shows a front wheel rotor, from the side so we won't see vents.

but that is one nasty rotor. and oddly enough, the scraped area is the size of a piston.
BUT also the scraped area is the size of a rear drum weight, as though a wheel drum weight
got loose and is wedged against the drum somehow and ...

I don't know what to think anymore. We asked for PICS, and we got it, but it only got worse !!!!!!

Here's what I am looking at. Its the area you can see between the holes in the wheel.

YUP, that is brake pad missing or failure. warranty work ASAP.

if the disc brake piston is the thing scraping (sure looks like it) they OWE
you a whole new brake caliper, not just pads. that is big time serious problem

when piston scrapes disc...metal dust can work it's way back along the piston and
the brakes could suddenly fail or lose fluid with zero notice and ...that is extrmeely
    bad.....

Dang. The rust is fine. That always happens after rain but something is definitely not right. The entire rotor should be shiny and worn...not half of it. First place to look is the brake pad on that side of the rotor...if there even is one.

Are both front rotors that way or only drivers?
