I’ve been diagnosing wheel bearings to see if mine are toast. Unfortunately I still don’t know and think they are fine or not bad enough to worry about. When I was holding the knuckles feeling for the bearings I discovered something on each knuckle. If I hold the top of the knuckle and turn the tire 3” forward then 3” backwards I feel play in the knuckle when transitioning from going forward to backward and vice versa. Is this normal play I’m feeling or have I finally discovered the bearings are toast, or something else. Everything else feels tight when I pryed on things and wiggled and hit stuff.

Hard to say over the internet but it could be your upper ball joints are worn. Do you have stock UCAs? How many miles on the truck?

155k on the truck with stock UCA. Any good tips on how to test them?
