Ummm, the FB groups are the lower half of the average. I've exited every Taco group on FB because of the stupidity level and just being filled with witless meme posts.

Speaking of Starbucks and lines and waiting, any time I drive past the Starbucks near me, the drive thru line is wrapped all the way around the building and sometimes out onto the street.
How is any cup of coffee worth waiting that long in line for?? Is it even Top Tier detergent coffee??

It's good coffee in my opinion, but the prices are crazy. But then, all the coffee stands around here are charging the same with a fraction of the overhead. Just nuts.

I only drink black coffee so not worth it to me. However, their chocolate and caramel and SUGAR drinks taste really damn good. Like really good

This is right up there with the people who say you shouldn't wait until the E line to fill up to avoid sucking up sediment in your gas tank.

Do the pumps float in the tank and pull fuel from the top? No, they're in the the lowest point of the tank right where any sediment will be...which is minimal, if existent at all. Gas goes through a filter at the refinery before it goes to wholesalers, through another filter before it goes in the tanker trucks, the truck pumps it through another filter when filling up station tanks, and then it goes through another filter between the station tanks and your vehicle.

Soooo, you're saying that it is filtered, but it is cold filtered? I only buy the best cold filtered gas.

That’s assuming there’s no sediment in the old ass tanks it’s in. Or the filters have been replaced etc etc etc

By that logic the tanks would just continue building up more and more sediment until they were full of sediment and then it wouldn't matter anyways. If the filters weren't replaced, they would be clogged with said sediment and the pumps wouldn't pump.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
When you see the same tanker truck dropping a load at a Mobil station and then at the local no-name convenience store it makes you wonder. I suspect they all pull from the same bulk tank at the terminal, except they are segregated by octane rating. Been using both name-brand and no-name gasoline in my Tacos for years with no adverse effects.

Most of the women have more common sense than the guys do over there. I think most of the guys are still wet behind the ears still.

You are not wrong. It is weird that there is a greater female presence on the FB groups.

Top Tier gas might be somewhat specific to certain geographical markets. I checked on 3 of the biggest gas station brands in my area (BP, Speedway, Holiday) and only one of them is listed as having Top Tier gas (Holiday). I’ve also never even heard anyone around here mention it.

We also don’t have the Chevron brand which was mentioned multiple times in this thread.

A friend had the tanks pulled out of a former station he owns. The tanks were installed in 1970 and removed about 2015. The steel tanks were clean on the inside all the way to the bottom with no build up observed, the interior paint was not compromised at all and you could still clearly read the painted information on the inside of the tank.

Of course this is just 8 data points (tanks), not a country wide study, however enough to convince me not to worry too much about sediment at the gas station.

Yes, I use top tier if available.

Top Tier is a quality rating, has nothing to do with octane. Top Tier stations sell 87, 89, 91, 93, etc.

If you've ever bought gas at a Shell, Chevron, Mobil, Costco, etc then you've bought Top Tier gas.

"which octane do you use" is it's own Friday topic/thread around here
