Topper that allows gate to drop

Just picked up my 2024 today. Planning on adding a topper, but curious if anyone has come across one that allows the gate to function without lifting the back topper window. While I don’t love the powered tailgate I would like to use its functionality on the remote since I have it, but all toppers I know of have the lip on the glass that will block the gate from going down. I know it’s a security thing but would be cool to be able to lower gate as I walk up with the remote (or inside button) and slide stuff in without having to lift topper rear window. Ideas? Also if anyone knows how to get the gate to not lock when the truck locks please let me know (other than impractical “just disconnect it” ideas). I know there is a pop and lock adapter that allows topper to be opened at the same time but not looking for that.

 

In the 3G I think you can drop the tailgate on the RSI smartcap. So it shouldn't change with the 4G. Ask people in this thread further details (I don't have one):

I can drop the tailgate with my SmartCap on. It never occurred to me I might not be able to.

 

Most caps have a lip that cover the top of the tailgate. For weather and theft protection

generally they can be modified or taken off

 

Try a softopper. The back window is canvas, and allows the tailgate to drop and close without unzipping the window. Not as secure as a hardtop, but allows what your looking to do.
