Interesting. It's actually kind of the opposite of what I'm most interested in (a cab-height shell where the top portion above the windows/windoors lifts up like a hardshell RTT), but it's still very cool.

That's also what I wanted - like a GFC probably - but $$$ :-/ $2100 for this lift and tent was enough investment for me! Cheers!

just my thoughts- having had the ezlift along with my own diy canvas tent attachments (tried their tent and was underwhelmed since it was tryin to fit all trucks so had a lot of excess fabric for a taco) i made and then moving to an Alucab Canopy camper. thought i would share my experience- as long as the truck bed main purpose is sleeping and ALL other life happens outside the truck. IE weekend camper or even a couple of weeks for 1 or 2 people the ez lift wins hands down but if you want more of a "camper" its hard to beat the canopy camper because i was able to build out the interior for a bench and table as well was able to sleep 4 with the canopy camper 2up and 2 in the bed but adding a bunch of weight. Still think my favorite truck build was my ezlift setup and that includes the canopy camper- the only other close first was my orginal Wildernest shell which i replaced so i could carry kayaks on the roof. hope that helps somebody.
edit post 121 is my old ezlift and tent from the guy i sold it to.

Ordered my ARE V series and Topper EZ lift yesterday. I was told I have a 12 week wait for the shell. Hope to update here with some photos once it's installed.
I wanted a 'camper' I can park in my garage and still have room for a roof rack and awning. Topper EZ lift was my only option unless I went with Skinny Guy Campers, but I don't camp enough to justify their fees.
I just plan to throw a cot in the back. Strap down an RV toilet and a cooler.

Expect very little in the way of customer support from EZLift. They seem to not want to actually correspond with their customers - or it's just me they dislike. :)

Still very happy with my purchase though.

Maybe that's it? I know I've sent them probably 300 words in various emails about shipping and whatnot - and their replies average probably 4 words in replies. Curt. Cut-short. Cut-and-dry basic communication.

Same for me, I have their business line and the manager’s personal cell. They have been very helpful so far. The manager asked me not to share their number and to call their support line first if I need help. Their online support has been lacking for me. Usually get a one word response after a few days.

Has anyone install this on a short bed and can share pictures? Having trouble figuring out how to secure front actuators to topper since they cannot be mounted to the side rails because of the wheel wells. My topper is a really weird angle and doesn't allow for much of the plate screw to feed through... Do I cut the screw and drill from the bottom?20220501_165926.jpg 20220501_165933.jpg

I’m getting mine installed 2nd week of June. The ARE dealer is doing the install for me. I’ll post up some pictures of how they mounted everything once I get the install completed. I have a short bed too

So turns out it is my LEER cap that is screwing me... The cab window bumps in unlike ARE toppers. I spoke with a nice fella at TopperEZLift (first try, 2 minutes total) and we thought up an idea to attach some slotted angle iron to each side of the front actuator brackets, meet them both to form a triangle to extend it over the wheel well to meet the side rail of the topper. Will need to cut the angle iron and get hardware to attach to bracket. Shouldn't be too hard and will post pics once done for all my short bed friends!

Here's what I did to rig it up. Not too hard at all just took some time...

Did you do the same with the front one as well? Any issues with your bracket bending?

Yes both front actuators are set up like that. No issues bending, it's very strong. Might use it to build a shelf.

Just wanted to say I had my first positive experience with TopperLift's customer service.

The flex-pole thing that holds up the top of the weekender - goes horizontally across the top of the opening - broke after my 2nd use.

Me: Good morning - the pole that goes across the top edge of the weekender is broken - it's cracked the length of its shaft, and the crack is maybe 8" long. Is there a replacement option? Have you seen that happen before?

    Thanks!

Them: Rebuildables cut to order at Walmart we have them on our site as well

    Sent from my iPhone

Me: So i'm taking it's a non-warranty item. Got it. I also asked if you'd seen that happen so soon after install? I've camped two nights in the truck. It's striking to me how others i've spoke with mention your great customer service - yet I think your last reply to me contained more words than any other you've sent in the past however-long since I first asked, then ordered. Why would they think your customer service was great? Did I offend you or otherwise do you regret selling to me?

Them: We haven’t had it happen with our US manufacturer we’ll get you one when there available, which currently they can’t give us a answer , strange times the shipping cost 2 times more than the item itself , we try to offer immediate solutions,

Also them: Two weeks later a replacement part shows up at my door without notice.

So they came through when I didn't ask them to.

I had a few shipping delays with the ARE dealer so everything took about 4-5 months to get in but I got the tent installed today. Space is tight in a short bed but I plan to build it out a bit. My cot, commode, and cooler all fit in the bed real well.

Has anyone used the Rigid Velcro Kit in lieu of (or to replace) the basic velcro strip that goes along the top of the bed? https://topperezlift.com/index.php/product/rigid-velcro-kit/ Has it worked better/worse for you? Does it keep rainwater out?

Background - I got mine installed back in June, have been out on several longer trips and have loved it...until the last trip when it rained. There was serious water intrusion where the adhesive for the velcro was not sticking well to the bedrail and it leaked like a sieve.

I was fairly pissed about this given the fairly light use... but, in fairness, I live in the Mojave Desert and it's been hot so maybe the adhesive backing on the velcro tape failed due to high temps. I'll be out a lot this fall/winter hunting and caving, and need to find a solution that will keep the rain out. I've contacted my installer but thought I'd reach out here as well. Any feedback on both the Rigid Velcro Kit linked above and/or out to keep the rain out would be great.

    Thanks in advance!
