Contacted Toyota USA before I contacted dealer about torque shudder issue. Made appointment with dealer to have transmission refreshed. Was told it was a known issue and after reflash was told I sould be good for now. Yeah right. Instead of doing it around town it now does it on the highway. So now I no longer get the gas mileage the truck was originally known for because the shift points were changed to eliminate the issue. I still have the torque shudder. These trannys are junk and bring back the th old 3 speeds and 4th for overdrive. Screw gas mileage. Going to get rid of my Tacoma. Not sure if I'm going to stick with Toyota.

Mine seems to shift better with the bigger tires. Never had a prob before tho.

You are aware there is a solution to the auto Tran woes? Search “be a man and drive stick.”

Then all you need is a stage 2 clutch, short throw shifter, acculmulator delete, fluid change...

Sounds like you know your way around a stick. If that's your thing, who am I to judge.

Why would you contact Toyota before a dealer?

I wanted to keep respecting Toyota so I got a manual trans. It worked for me.
