I just put on new valve cover gaskets on my truck and didn't want to screw up the new gaskets and could not find a definitive answer on the torquing for the valve cover gaskets. If someone has the specific poundage, that would be great! Thanks.

I'm actually going to do this later today myself. According to my manual the valve covers are 53 inch pounds (which is basically just snug) and 19 foot pounds for the intake plenum. I can't wait to have a truck that doesn't smell like oil. Hopefully I don't have any issues with the intake bolts.

Well I did over tighten them but not by much but then have been out of town the last 2 weeks. Think I will be ok to just losses a tiny bit when I get home this weekend?

now I will admit I have no offhand knowledge on this part of your question, my gut feeling is that if its not leaking don't mess with it. watch and observe.
I was always told with gaskets that once you tighten them you can't back off without making it worse.
hunt out others on here with more experience with this, before you do anything.
