    MAC is the way to go. The extra money is well worth it. It will NEVER start getting slower on you like pc does after 3 months of use. No antivirus needed.

    How do I know? I had 4 laptops in a row that F'd up... spent a good 2 weeks on the phone with Joe'
    I went to macbook 3 years ago and have had "0" issues

    Arctic bull bar, hitch step, side bars (All by Avid Off Road!), BHLM, eye lids....
    I have a Dell and still hate where the speakers are (facing downward in the front); I have a Toshiba Satellite that still works great as well...The Dell XPS has a good rep, as does the studio; Toshiba makes a very good product... I wouldn't touch Acer (had two, both were sub standard).

    The Dell XPS M1730 has everything that you could need alongside the 17" screen; there are also plenty of 16" options out there (15.4" too small, some find the 17" too large and settle with the 16"). Most of your decision should be based on what you are going to do with it the laptop. Most people buy laptops with capabilities they will never use but feel that they need to spend the big bux....

    love my HP 5 yrs old now... only problem i ever had was i burnt up my hard drive b/c of not cleaning/blowing out the dust... still runs strong
