That's correct. They come with a coilover mount. The arms and everything else remain the same.

Is it the top hat or the shaft that's different?

The shocks extended and compressed lengths differ from king so they make the adjustments in the adjustment in the top hat. That way all the major components remain the same

I think you're a little backwards. Spring rate has more to do with ride height. Valving has more to do with ride characteristics if spring rate is correct for the vehicle

Correct, but if he's riding on shocks with 'custom valving' that wouldn't generally be the first place I would look for a problem with suspension components. I would think it would be much more likely that the interaction between a custom shock and a Tacoma specific aftermarket leaf pack would be the issue. That being the Tacoma specific leaf pack was designed to be softer and provide more flex for offroading, while the shocks are designed to control a stiffer spring which puts out a lot more force. Now that the strong shock is trying to control a weaker (relative) spring it has a greater dampening effect than intended and this "over dampening" results in a rough ride. Just a thought though

I don't even think he has leaf springs, and he's talking about his coilovers anyway.

Since when were we talking about leaf springs? He's running 600lb springs on coilovers valved for the Baja kits long travel front end. His springs are off by 50lbs if that. They are probably good. Without knowing the valving it's hard to decide the best action to take.

You are correct, It's a newer 4runner. Have fun finding the leaf springs on it

I bought the coilovers through BlueLine Expedition Outfitters with guidance from Brian at Icon.

Nah mine are brand new. But Thanks! here in a couple of weeks the building shall commence. I've had the coilovers in my apartment for 2 weeks now. They take up a ton of floor space. I've had various financing options proposed (through ORWs agency and PayPal credit) but I'm waiting until I can buy it debt free even if it takes a bit longer.
