    Hey all,

I ordered some bed stiffeners from total chaos and realized I received the 2nd gen parts. The Amazon listing was confusing.

I live in skagway alaska, so returning things and having new parts shipped up takes nearly forever.

Has anyone installed the 2nd gen stiffeners on a 3rd gen? What extra fabrication was nessesary? Thanks!

I don't think there is a difference inside the box.

They are different. I had to contact Total Chaos when I was ordering because of the confusion over the Amazon listing. I believe the 3rd Gen ones are taller. Not sure if all the bolt holes line up as well.

I'm 95% sure they are the same as the beds are identical.

And I don't recall instructions saying anything about 2nd or 3rd Gen specific.

That was my initial thought when I test fitted them. Wasn’t sure if they were shorter or my bed was spread way out haha. Darn. Guess I’ll call total chaos and get new ones shipped

They have different part numbers stamped on them, so something must be different

I'm headed up to Juneau on 2/5. Not sure if I can help in any way, but let me know. I live in Seattle, BTW.

Edit: heading to Anchorage, then to Fairbanks, then back to Seattle afterwards.

    Hm oh well.
Guess it's just the different tail lights?

Bed is the same on the two generations.

Right on. Thanks for reaching out. Looks like the Amazon ad got the best of me. I’m just going to return them and patiently wait for the 3rd gens

OP. I am in the same boat in regards to location. I am stationed over here on Kodiak Island, AK. I had At the Helm Fabrication send me some stiffeners. Great price, easy to install, and look sharp!

The beds aren’t exactly the same. The 3rd gens have taller (depending on how you dimension it) bed sides. Since the TC bed stiffeners bolt in above the tail lights they have two different model numbers. I believe bed stiffeners that don’t pass the tail lights (in height) are the same across both gens.

Thanks again for all the insight, everyone. I ended up just cutting the tops off the total chaos stiffeners. A little filing and some paint and they look alright. Those ATH ones look sharp though
