    Thanks.

I’m not sure if I’m picking up exactly what your asking, but if you’re referring to the hub assembly, the hubs can generally be reused as long as the bearings don’t have play. Only tools required to remove them is a 17mm combo wrench. You’ll need a rubber mallet to remove the cv from the hub, but thats required to remove the spindle. Hubs unbolt from the spindle and slide right out.

RIght, I meant the hub where the studs are attached for wheels. I had to use a sledge to remove mine before installing a new one. I was wondering if there is a smarter and better way to do it to reuse without damage.

Did you break the axle free from the hub before trying to remove it?

That’s required for installing the spindles weather you remove the hubs or not. That’s why I didn’t mention it.

Done it before, the whole process. Just don't want to dent the hub that's all lol! But thank you.

I'm confused how you dented the hub.

    Take the wheel off
    Dust cover off
    Brake caliper and rotor off
    Remove CV axel nut
Use mallet to pound cv axle out of the hub
Remove the 4 bolts holding the bearing/hub assembly to the spindle/knuckle.

At what point in those steps did you use a sledge hammer.

I removed the 4 bolt holding the bearing/hub it was stuck in there and had to pound it out.

Generally I find that they come off pretty easy, unless your in an area that has rust issues. If you’re talking about the dust cap, those get dented easily. I just knock the dents back out before reinstalling them.

Still exchanging spindles. Here’s a few pairs I’ve done lately. Currently have 1 set ready to ship and a decent amount of cores.

I check spindles in a jig I built. You can eyeball them on a flat surface pretty good. After finding a bent set in the jig I’ve always eye balled them as well and it’s generally pretty apparent that way as well.
