Their is no official tolerance. I hold all my spindles to + or - 0.0625

So if i put two next to each other and they are within .12" they probably aren't bent? or both are bent similarly at least.

That’s correct. I took all my specs from three pairs of brand new spindles and build my fixtures to check straightness off those. I do however always compare the cores sent to me, to each other before going thru the trouble of bolting them into the fixture.

So...what's the deal with these castle nuts? Picking up a set from Glorified Welder, and I have JBA UCAs, ball joints.

If you didn’t specify ball joints when you ordered you’ll need a slimmer castle nut to fit the pin!

    These did the trick!!

Oddly the JBA ball joint doesn’t have a hole in it so you can’t put a pin through.

Looking good Sean. Let us know how the install goes.

bump. I’ve got three sets of gusseted spindles headed to their new homes. Just received 3 new sets of cores. I currently have one of those sets not spoken for. They are gusseted and ready to ship.

I have changed the OP to reflect that anyone looking to run gusset kits with ball joint uca’s may require the thinner nuts that @The Schwartz was kind enough to find for us.

I will no longer be offering modified spindle gusset kits for ball joints. Every time I’ve done ball joint gusseted spindles I have made little improvements to my design, so that the full strength of the kits can be retained. We’ve gotten to a point where the process involves two welding processes(mig and tig) and custom cut top plates. At this point in time the labor required to build a set has gone from the 1 hour needed to do a standard set of gusseted spindles to two hours. That labor has never been reflected in the price. With the discovery of the thinner nuts the kits can now be used exactly as designed from TC (which to me is as good or better design than the modified sets I have been offering). Once again thanks to the Schwartz for the leg work on the nuts.

To anybody who I’ve previously told via text, pm’s, or dm’s that I would build them a set for ball joint uca’s I will still honor that if you want a set at the same price I have been offering them. I also don’t want to rush anyone into making a purchase so I will extend my offer to those members indefinitely. Thanks.

    bump.

A few more sets shipped out. Also a couple sets of prepped cam tabs headed out as well. I’ll be working out of town this week, but I boxed up a set of spindles and brought them with me so I can still fill orders.
